IMO and i will probably get shot down dont think bringing in french and welsh sides is going to help. I have always said and will say it again we should look to cumbria and merge some of the lower sides around the northwest to bring them forward.

When my brother in law played at landon broncos they were bailed out of 2.5million pounds worth of debt i would sooner see that money being spent on lower teams to bring them up to scratch.

Norwich City's Lee Croft was a very good Rugby League player.

Although he was a footballer at the weekend on Manchester City's books, he played for Abraham Guest along side me and our basic aim was to give it to Crofty in space. If we did this then he simply would have been caught and he scored some awesome tries and RL circles watched him closely.

Unfortunately, in the second or third year Manchester City took him away where his ties were cut from Rugby League altogether.

Barrett was fantastic in his first year at Wigan followed by an inconsistent second year.

Didn't realise this, that's quite interesting. Crofty was on loan at Oldham for a bit and he was an awesome little footballer, shame he wasn't quite able to make the step up to the prem. He was a tenacious little for a footballer as well - i can see where he gets it from now!

Back O/T, i feel that the answer is one that has been discussed many a time but won't be popular with those little clubs who have dragged us down to their level. No point getting into that argument again tho

He didn't have much of a rugby brain, but he was just lightening and very strong.

It would have been interesting to see how he would have done had he selected Rugby League.

The skill levels on display in the bad weather ( Manly v Bulldogs , Sharks v Panthers ) were unbelievable. They were throwing it out wide and playing expansive footy in the heaviest rain I have ever seen. If that had been SL I should imagine it would be just drives up the middle and a kick.

Complemented by a completely OTT commentary by those idiots at Sky led by Eddie no nowt Hemmings.
