| Dunno if I'm over-simplifying this, but surely if the RFL were looking to maximise the visual impact of the crowd on Saturday they would start by selling tier 1 & 2 tickets, then open ticket sales for the top tiers of north, east, and west stands once these were close to capacity? Does anyone know what the capacity is without the 3rd tier included at Old Trafford?

I think they might make an exception this time.

Still a few days to go though, still could easily sell another few thousand. If the rfl start giving tickets away to local community clubs and such like, cut price tickets for locals then could get to 60,000.

I thought it would be in the 50s, so think this is more believable than the rumour of 60k sold earlier this week. Hopefully more will get sold and the attendance can get closer to 60k.

They've already given away more than enough - a final ticket should cost money. Particularly as Iv just forked out £65!

I understand what your saying in regards to buying your ticket but if there's seats free then why not give them away, if, as a sport, we could get 100 new people to a few games across the league next season, they tell a few of their friends the season after and so on, 10 years down the line a few spare tickets could have made a massive difference.

It came via someone at the RFL so tbh I'm not surprised if it's wrong

| Good to get the win but horrible atmosphere in the stands around us (block W207 towards the back). Several fights and people who’d obviously been on the nose bags pre-game. Not what we need - had a pregnant woman and kids in tears around me just as Marshy scores the only try. Left a sour taste in the mouth and hope those scum bags stay away in future.

We took our 5 year old to his first game tonight. Along with his grandma who was at what’s likely to be her last.
The win sadly soured by a couple of drunken Wigan fans behind us. I won’t go into detail but cup finals are crap for this. Far too many gobsh**es who’ve been on the ale, all day.
Not convinced my lad will fancy that for a few years which is sad for us.

All the fights around us were Wigan on Wigan to be fair. No trouble from rival fans. Seemingly caused by spilled drinks and differing opinions as to whether you should be standing up all game.

| I had a moan about my tix earlier in the week, but to be fair it all worked out really well. North Stand towards the East stand. Good view (usually sit behind the sticks), mainly Wigan fans in the section, few gaps but pretty civilised tbh

We were sat on the end of an isle which I usually like however we were surrounded by a large group of family and friends on the rows in front and next to us.
Initially I thought it was great as they were a mix of ages from babies up to OAP’s and everyone in between.
I was very wrong though.
They hadn’t paid for seats for the younger kids and kicked off when people who had paid for the seats they were taking arrived.
Most of them were absolutely blasted. Kids were just allowed to climb over the seats up and down rows. The ones on our row needed a pee or to go to the bar every 2 minutes as individuals, they seemed unable to go together meaning rather than standing up once to let them through as a group had to keep standing up and sitting down through most of the match. The people in their group in the row in front also did the same usually at key points or even worse just stood up for no reason as at or to chat to someone in their group on one of the other rows.
Got to the point I had to have a word and then they started making out like I was being unreasonable.
One saving grace was most of their party on my row decided to go home at half time.
Didn’t ruin the day but was irritating.
I’m sure most of them won’t remember much about the game due to their levels of intoxication particularly the makes in the group.

| Loved the game obviously but horrible experience at old Trafford.
I’m 6ft 4 so the leg room is unbearable.
I’m sounding like an old man but can’t stand them horns, just absolutely pointless. Grown men on a p*ss up blowing them as loud as possible outside the ground. Weird behaviour.
Bloke in front of me vaping throughout the game, no consideration for others.
There was a scrap in another block, everyone more excited looking at that rather than the game.
Sound system was terrible and couldn’t hear a thing (I like Reverend and the Makers too).
I went to Spurs yesterday for the NFL and the experience was night and day.
Get it at the Etihad.
Also the middle 3 blocks behind the sticks should have been reserved for system ticket holders. I’ve not missed a home game this year, paid for the cup quarter final and playoff semi and was on the second row from the back in Block 202 (towards the sideline).
Give me an away game with 2000 die hards any day.

| I was in the posh seats this time but agree with the poster above about the legroom at standard OT seats being really annoying (I'm 6'2). Call me a fun sponge but I think it's time to ban those horns.

| I agree regarding leg room,I am 5-11 and wasnt ideal for me.
Funny thing was this woman sat behind me had her knees in my back and I said if anything could be done she said it wasnt her fault as she was sat as far back as poss I nearly said open your legs luv but thought it wasnt appropriate because we wasnt formally introduced.

| We were in the safe standing area, not far back from the tunnel and it was great. Plenty of room (when standing) and something to lean on. Bar was quiet near our bit and no issues getting served etc.
I wouldn't mind seeing the GF moved to Everton's new ground tho. Not only does it look like it will be one of the best venues in the North, it Would be a great change up. It's pretty much in the city, so no issues with trams etc, plenty of old school pubs and large venues in walking distance too.

| It’s capacity that’s the issue with any potential move. If any other side bar Catalans make that GF, you’re talking at least 10k more fans attending and nowhere in the North is big enough. It’ll be years down the track but there’s talk this Man U partial sale will lead to the ground being renovated. That would be perfect for Rugby League but can we last it out at OT for another 5+ years.

Question on the safe standing section mate, was everyone standing?
I was considering them tickets but saw a comment saying everyone in them last year was sitting.
If we get back to the GF I might consider going in there.

Yeah everyone around me was stood up for the whole of the game. If you can handle that long on your feet, I'd defo recommend it.

Were in North N2405 between the 30m and 40m lines. A good mixture of fans with no trouble whatsoever. I don't like watching a game from behind the posts so these seats were ideal, I'd rather pay a bit more and have less bother.

| We’ve done safe standing a couple of times now. It was great on Saturday but we were right at the back. We did it for the WC final and we were at the front and that wasn’t great because people behind were sat down and then you felt like you had to and to say it was cramped was an understatement.

I'd have hated to have had to sit down. Luckily enough for us, we got in earlier than we normally would and naturally stood up, anyone who came after kind of just followed our lead.
Personally, I thought it made it a better atmosphere + the organisation of the seats/rows made it a better experience than traditional, free for all standing areas.
