IMO the league is the greater [iachievement[/i, as it rewards performances over 27 games, not just a few. Deciding which is the greater [iprize[/i is partly media-led and partly prize money related - both of which are largely influenced by SKY, who do a wonderful job in ignoring the CC competition.

(Incidentally, to pre-empt some criticism, I've always held that opinion, not just because we're currently league leaders!)

The greatest achievement surely has to be the hub cap, but is the least recognised - financially and status wise. (i.e. The best team over the course of the season) as opposed to two seperate competions (CC - 5 games to win), (GF 3-4 games to win).

Leeds have priced most fans out of coming to this fixture with their greedy attitude.

Considering this game is between two of the top sides and there are only 10,000 tickets available, it should have sold out ages ago, regardless of it being on tv!

Despite what some Leeds fans think of the cup I'm sure the players are desperate to play at Wembley as only Senior has done that and it is the only medal missing from most players collections, and with the financial rewards I'm sure the club are just as desperate so despite what a few people post on an internet forum Leeds RL will be trying their best to succeed where they have failed for the past 11 years.

Went past the ticket office at 4.15 tonight and there was still a sign on the window saying 'Leeds tickets'

I cannot see any info on the Wigan or Leeds websites to say if you can pay on the day (I know you cant pay at the turnstile unless you go to a certain Crusaders turnstile and give the guy a tenner

You can pay on the day, but at the ticket office rather than on the turnstiles. If the cricket is rained off then it makes the whole 10,000 limit and the related hoo-haa all a bit pointless really.

My mate went up to Headingley on Fri afternoon and there was just 700 tickets left. Should imagine it will be sold out - Us Leeds fans have just left it late thats all. Big fuss over nothing.

Watched the forecast & yes it's going to rain all day - certainly no cricket whatsoever today!!!!!!!!
