What was the award for ? That implies that there is people out there that believe Graham is the best prop in the world. Just like in Fieldens prime, some people had the same opinion. Was he the best ? debatable as is Grahams title.

Quite the opposite imo, IL said Maguire wants to look at the current squad before he sign's someone. Whats the point in signing someone unless the coach has given the go ahead.

I agree, signings will only be made with the blessing of McGuire. Lenegan said if the right person becomes available then they'd obviously be interested.

As i heard it, IL said that the players on his "to look at" list were not particularly impressive when he spoke to people in Australia (I think that we can now assume that to be Maguire)

If IL was going to change coach then I expect Maguire will decide who he wants, so maybe there will be arrivals next season.

Wouldn't suprise me if there were a couple of exits as well.

That Carmont centre birth is one which i see as a potential change, no way should we give him 2 years. There are some outstanding young centres in the NRL.

I rate Carmont he has been a great signing but we have to be realistic and if better younger players are available who knows?

I would give Carmont a 1 year deal, he is getting on so he will play half and half with Pryce/Goulding or Thornley. Shimples!

As would I but he seems to be pushing for 2, we are currently in a position to look around and see who is available we should take that opportunity.

If he wants a 2 year deal personally I would not want it to be at Wigan.

Carmont only started playing first team late in his career so I guess he'll be using that as a bargaining tool.

Not that simple tho so late in the day. We can't afford to let such a vital cog in our attack go with no real options for next season to replace him.

If Carmont goes then who is ready to step up at fill that role? Goulding has had his chance, Pryce perhaps? I wouldn't want a kid in Thornley there yet as we've all seen what happens when we shove our kids in at the deep end.

If this would have been decided mid way through the season we'd be in a much stronger position but it's not.

Sadly we need Carmont next season as he's vital for our attack

We are in a position where we can look around its amazing the standard of player that is available, and who better to know about that than Wane and Maguire.

There is no way Carmont should get a 2 year deal, without any shadow of a doubt. If he wants a 2 year deal let him get it else where, there are always players available. Morris was available 2 years ago late in the day we nearly brought him to the club, now he is in the Australian squad for the 4 nations.

Maguire isn't here yet tho!

Before we let Carmont go we have to make sure there are genuine targets out there that we can bring in so late on in the day.

The longer it takes Maguire to come over then asses the squad the more time slips away from us and the harder it will get.

The fact Maguire is not here is inconsequential he knows the Aussie market and he will know the situation with those players that are available.

He will also know like most of us you do not give a 31 year old with a record of niggling injuries a 2 year deal.
