Your comments on depression on the VT where disgusting. Mind you that's why you posted it. To make your little winkle tinkle when you see people being offended from the comfort of you PC.

No. That comment was way out of order and posted out of frustration after just witnessing the incident. But that's no excuse and i'll now face the consequences by being labelled (if i wasn't already) as a bellend. I'll deal with it.

Fair enough
I am saying nothing more on the subject as you have apologised, in public and about something that happened completely in the heat of the moment when your blood was up, for which you now feel nothing but remorse
It would be completely unfair for me to repeatedly chastise you over and over and over and over again. On social media, the free press, television and this good forum.
That would just be like some sort of which hunt!

You could if you want but no one would care because I'm a nobody!
Now the RFL have dealt with it swiftly the uproar in the media and on social networks should clam down. When flower returns it'll be forgotton, all is forgiven.

Which of the two teams in the Grand Final had the most players found guilty of foul play this SL season?'"
I was looking at this over the weekend so would like to have a go at answering.
By my calculations both Saints and Wigan had 7 players charged during the Super League season.
Is that correct?
Additionally, I also noticed Saints had 26 other incidents looked at resulting in "No Charge".
Wigan had 48.
Quite a difference there.
I couldn't help but notice that Sam Powell was looked at 5 times during the season.
Two of which were in the last two games and two of which were within two minutes in the same match.
Four of the five incidents were for direct contact with the standing/supporting leg(s), with the other also in regard to tackling technique.
I thought that quite interesting.

You can ask "but whose perception is it" all you like - but it's clearly a common held belief amongst fans outside of your club. I think Wigan play closer to the line than other clubs, the stats I provided backed that up. I've not accused Wigan of being dirty or anything else, but I can understand how people interpret the citings as such (that doesn't mean they're right).
If wigan as a club don't want to be accused of "thugby" they need to step in line with the number of citings (the number of times they get close to stepping over the line) with other clubs - whatever that takes.'"
I'm sure Phil Clarke will have all those stats ready for the next time he bores the crap out of us with stats.

What is quite interesting, is that Wigan had an extra 22 incidents looked at, which resulted in no charge. So an actual difference of 0 charges brought against both clubs.

Not quite - I said found guilty in the SL this season. Being charged with something does not imply guilt. Saints have had more players found guilty of foul play in the SL this season than Wigan. However you'd think Wigan went onto the pitch with AK47s with the bile threads like this throw up. Hull KR and Catalan had more players found guilty than either Wigan or Saints.
As already been stated there is no difference the number of incidents resulting in no charge because there wasn't actually anything wrong in terms of foul play that required any kind of disciplinary punishment. Perhaps it shows even the RFL are falling for the urban myth and when they actually look at the detail there isn't anything there.

He was probably expecting a personal email full of grovelling apologies for being a Wiganer, which in typical grandstanding Saints fan fashion, he could then reject.

Kieron Cunningham received no ban whatsoever when he forearmed a player in the face whilst on the floor, and fractured said player's eye-socket (Stosic of Wakefield). No ban, no threat of police, for what was a far worse incident. It is just a shame that Flower didn't keep his composure, because he's NOT a dirty player, far from it; but had he done so it should have been St Helens down to 12 men for the match, and I suspect they would have lost by more than 40 points.

Why would they need to look at the number of times "they get close to stepping over the line"? I don't see your point. The line is drawn where it is for a reason (i.e. that it isn't foul play) so why should they look at addressing play that's within the rules of the game. Shall we also look at addressing incidents that were close to being cited? And then incidents that were nearly close to being cited? Then incidents that were almost nearly close to....well I think you get the point! The rules are set out. Play within them and that is fine regardless of what some fans perceive. To be perfectly frank, if we listened and, God forbid, acted on what some fans perceived we'd have Ben Flower arrested and put in jail (and even worse!) by now.

Poor comeback? You were grammatically incorrect in a post that was inferring other people were 'mindless'. The two definitions of irony below might interest you as you clearly have trouble understanding the concept!
•a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often wryly amusing as a result.
•a literary technique, originally used in Greek tragedy, by which the full significance of a character's words or actions is clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character.

Well, the season is over so he's hardly likely to be on sky is he? Maybe he'll pop up on the darts coverage with an apology to you all. His job is to present stats. That's a part of sky's coverage.
Stats are something we all use to back up our arguments from time to time. Wigan scored most points and conceded the least over the season, so the stats are likely to show Wigan as being better than the rest. FWIW I think the stats are overdone as the only one that counts is the score at he end of the game.
I personally am pleased for James Roby who for me should have been MoS. a hooker who plays the full 80 minutes, not someone who comes on when the defence is tiring. I am also pleased for Nathan Brown who shut all the hypocrites up on the Saints board who said he was no use. Likewise all the Saints 'fans' who said Wello should have retired. I think you should start a thread saying sorry to these guys because they delivered success and a good number of 'fans' were badly wrong.

I know MM has done some pretty poor efforts and obviously Flower the other night, but I can't think of any other Thuggish acts this season. I've seen posts about our method of tackling, but if it's illegal, why would we be allowed to do it? Someone on the gloating thread said our style was boring. I've really enjoyed watching our attacking play this year, especially when you think we lost Sam this year. Most Tries, Most Points and Most Clean Breaks enough said. Most of you guys watch us every week, unlike me with only the televised games, hope you can enlighten me!'"
To be honest, the tags of thugs and boring are probably a bit harsh.
The boring is a reference to the structured game that Wigan play ........ some fans prefer a more fluid, off the cuff, improvised style, where the ball carrier takes a few more risks.
The thug tag is probably because of their physical and aggressive tackling style; and is pssibly also linked to Wigan having had some notorious "hard men" over the years (Goodway, Skerrett, Newton etc); it might even be older fans remembering when Shaun Wane was a player, and in an era when a lot of biff was accepted, he could dish it out with the best of them.

As could many others, and yet I don't see the multitude of threads slagging off Warrington (Boyd, Cullen, et al) or Widnes (Mills. Sorenson, Tamati, etc) or St. Helens (Nickle, Fogerty, etc).
People are all of a sudden fixated with Wigan about thuggery, just like they have forever been fixated with then through jealousy.

Took a cursory look at the stains board, i don't like to hang around there too long as it make me feel grubby, banned anyway.... But, i failed to notice a single thread about LH's cowardly attack to the jaw of "Mr Flower power", which came as no surprise whatsoever. I thought it might have deserved a thread, due to it being an action which merited a ban.

I think the tags more than [uprobably a bit harsh.[/u Who are the teams that play with this off the cuff style? Every team I see have a structured way of playing. We have players who take risks with ball in hands, Sarginson, Gelling, Burgess, Bowen and Green spring to mind. Our style suits our players or visa versa. We scored the most tries as a team, and many from longe range, that suggests we have more to our attacking game than just set plays.
As for the [uthug[/u tag. Every club have had their fair share of hard men. Most could give it out and take it. Despite all the statistics, no one has proved that we are a [uteam of thugs[/u as was banded about after the Grand Final.
On my OP, i asked about our tackling technique, asking if it is illegal? I have looked at the stats for this season, we made 8053 tackles as a team. How many of our players have been found guilty of a Cannonball tackle?
