Jamie Peacock hit the nail on the head when he said to get someone like Max Clifford to publicise the sport, if he can whip up mass histeria over no mark oxygen thieves like Peter Andre and Kerry Katona then I'm sure he could work wonders with Rugby League.

so with just over 2 weeks to go only about 4k left to sell out.

How many have Wire got left? Would assume they would sell out. Think Saints only brought 3000-3500 (about 1k short).

We sold a large amount in the final week leading up to the game, probably as people only buy on a match to match basis.

I can see a lot of people being disappointed, some people think that either walking up on the day or booking a couple of days before will be fine, i reckon sold out by the 10th.

The problem that may occur is that the day of the match is the last day of school (In Wigan anyway), so there's a chance a lot of families may have gone away on holiday.

However as I was in charge of booking the holiday's this year, I made sure we only took off on the Saturday afternoon.


Games missed will be Hull (A) and Leeds (A), of which I've heard through the grapevine that both are on SKY.

i love the one guy are there that cannot quite seem to figure out that even though the people who work at heinz got their tickets free, they were not given away, as heinz bought them.

Then the other person who says that we only started to market our games after a couple of early season games with 12K people there. the only games we have had with 12K people there are catalans (bottom of the table, no away support, therefore not much chance of it being a massive crowd) and hull kr (a game that was on tv, therefore very likely that people will watch at home).

Because a proportion of both sets of fans are muppets.

As Andy alludes to, there are a section of fans from both Wigan and Latics who are beyond reasoning.

Yes but that 10000 includes the whole of the Wire end which holds 5400 and they should probably sell those meaning we need to sell another 5000 for the "Wigan ends". So with a few weeks left a sellout is definitely on.

Definately going to sell out. Maybe now the advert is running on ITV Granada, we could have a daily update just to see the impact the advert is having (ala B4 the saints game).
