| In recent games Lynch hasn't impressed me that much compared to the drives he was making last season. Maybe he's not 100% after his injury.
I think a good prop is hard to find (that could make a good song title)
I think if we're gonna import and spend big, lets get one good prop in, our front row is really lacking. It's really effecting us as a team.
I seriously don't know what to do with Fielden, he should be our main prop, but really isn't performing, it's actually upsetting!
Fekas doing us proud, but can only be on the field in spells.

| If we sign Lynch (without by some miracle offloading Fielden for the 2010 season) I will be disgusted.
Not the player we need at all!!!
Fielden should be replased by LMS assuming he does not do the decent thing and retire.
Lynch is not the enforcer we need he is the defenition of a work man, he may be a good player but lacks the persoanlity and the presence we need. Overseas is the only option for the Prop issue unless Morley of Peacock suddenly have a huge fall out with there respective clubs sadly.

totally agree, we have serious problems in the front row, Lynch is not the man to take us forward, as one of our front line players I wouldn't say no, but not the Peacock, Morley, or even Graham that we could do with. It says something when you start looking at Fozzard thinking did we miss an opportunity there!

I suggested Lynch would be a good signing, but more intended to be the player to replace Coley as the hard worker (if Coley every filled that role..)
In that game yesterday I was watching Ryles thinking "What if...?" He would have been a star and maybe the player to have to lead our props forward. Hes a mountain himself but someone who doesnt look like he would take messing off the players around him, not in a Farrell kind of way, just in the form of leading by example in the props. (Sadly what we intended Fielden to do...)

Sadly i think the excuse for a Prop Fielden has to go down as our "work horse" for next year due to the nature of his contract.
We badly need the enforcer as a priority, and although i rate Lynch do not think he fits the bill personality wise.

If he wasn't so injury prone this season he should be a target.

| What we need for next season is what we need for this season and we should have signed these players prior to this season starting.
We needed a prop forward and didn't get one. Instead we brought in Roberts a year earlier when we didn't need him. A winger certainly wasn't the priority in the off season or should not have been if it was. We should have moved heaven and earth for a prop forward and didn't.
Also we needed a replacement for Trent Barrett. Why we thought that Tim Smith would do this I am not quite sure. Lack of judgement on players. Everyone is saying for next season we need a leader - someone who can direct us around the park and shape our attack. We needed this for THIS season and yet failed to identify this.
Again this season it is still obvious we need a prop forward but instead Noble and Lenagan have been quoted as saying that we needed a game breaker and so payed a six figure sum for Martin Gleeson. Although this was an area we needed to strengthen it once again was NOT the priority. We need a prop forward. With no disrespect to Martin Gleeson a prop forward would strengthen the team much more than Gleeson has.
We might as well write this season off because without a stronger front row, we wont dominate matches and wont be able to lay down a platform for our backs to work from and people will be blaming Roberts and pointing the finger at Leuluai and Tomkins when it is our forwards that should get the stick.

| I hear all this talk about how we should have got a new prop for this season, but the reality is that a considerable percentage of our wage bill for 2009 was already allocated to prop forwards, of whom we started the season with 5. I doubt it would have made good financial sense to add another one.
Even at the end of this year, Coley's departure will not free up a great deal of cash.
That will only happen when Fielden's contract expires at the end of 2010.

True but Add Bailey's wage to that of Andy's and we should have significant funds to get at the very least a player like K.Luleui/Lynch which although not what we exactly need would still be an improvement on what we have.
I still think with the players we have coming off contract we can attract and afford someone better. Petro would be my undoubted choice.
At the end of day we have to, legitimately or by the uncle mo calc way, get a top class prop for next season no excuses would be acceptable imo.
Then as you say Fielden is off contract and we should get either LMS or Astotasi

Ali Lauitiiti is our Impact Bench player whether he is playing in the Second Row or filling in at Prop, Ryan Bailey doesn't really fit into one of those catorgories he is more the "Solid does his job" Prop Forward, I Wouldn't class Jamie Peacock as the enforcer he isn't the one who goes flying into tackles and charging through the opposition attracting numerous tacklers (to some extent compared with Kylie Leuluai anyway) Peacock in my eyes is most definately the Worker and Kylie Leuluai is the Enforcer...

| If we after an enforcer then how about Jamal Fakir? He can also play either prop or 2nd row. Both in a game obviously if interchange dictates it.
Lynch a hard worker and experienced. LMS is excellent but still quite young and inexperienced.
BTW the exempt players under the overseas rule are Richards & Leuluai.
The Non Federation Quota figure is 7 in 2010 and 5 in 2011 which excludes Pat and Tommy.
If any of Fakir, Lynch or LMS came to Wigan they would be classed as Federation trained.
