| Money is often the issue. But lets look at what will be available after we offload the players we want rid.
Phelps
Bailey
Smith
Mathers
Coley.
Will this be enough CAP space to get him in? We don't need any of them players regardless.

This is always the question that fans like us can not really answer.
You can't just cut contracts and throw the money at big-name Aussies, regardless of whether the current crop are 'fit to play for Wigan' or not.
To some extent you have to go with what you've got. Rebuilding a team is a slow process these days.

| This enforcer/Capt 60min man is the main issue for next year I think.
CAP should go to this player.
I'm only keen on bringing in an Aussie for big cash if they are truly worth it. i.e Barrett.
Maybe the other positions will have to wait to be filled.
After next season Fielden's contract will be up, we can use that money for other key roles. New 7, New 1 for example.

I agree
We have not had 2 good for a long time for ages we have had one of our wingers that never gets the ball i.e. Calderwood last year i think that is the main reason we never get the ball out wide as we are limited to playing that way on one side of the field give us loads more options when Gleeson gets here.

Cant agree. Roberts is proven, just needs to be passed the ball. Which currently is rare.

Roberts hasn't impressed yet but you do make a valid point. The majority of our attacking plays goes to the left.

| So considering how many points Richards gets us with his kicking alone, with how well Ainscough is playing and developing as a young Wigan lad you'd sooner see Roberts starting above one of them?
Who do you think has had a better attitude? Richards/Roberts or Ainscough/Roberts?
No contest. Richards and Ainscough are the first two choice wingers IMO.

Not so simple IMO. The ball goes to Carmont more than it goes to Bailey.

This is one reason why I'd really like us to sign Gleeson. He's a specialist centre who plays to his winger, who, in the form of Roberts, happens to be greased lightning. Anyone who doesn't rate Amos, can't have seen him play very much.

i'll concede that point.
carmont does offer more in attack than bailey.....baileys in there to shore up the defence, which isnt much use when we're attacking.
teams just load up one side of the park and we are then clueless.
we need 2 centres who can pass and tackle........like keith senior.

| Notable point, right-handed halves usually pass left. Easier to do at pace.
Phil Clarke also made an issue of this once.

| You would think so.
Just like football trainers teach their kids to pass, shoot and play with both feet.
But how often do we hear footballs are 'one footed'.

Most can pass both ways but depending on if your right or left handed means your more comfortable passing one way. That is one reason we have specialist left and right they can play either side but are more confidant on one or the other side of the field.
