Being a Scotsman who has lived in the town for 23 years, i consider myself to be an "honorary" Wiganer and i love this place as my own.

I feel lucky to live here as even though Wigan is (was) an industrial town, you are never more than 10 minutes from beautiful country side. The town itself has its scabby areas like anywhere, but on the whole i think it is a quite a pretty place in its own unique way. The plantations are a cracking place and are quite unique (i think) in the way that they almost run through the middle of the town.

The majority of people here are of a friendly disposition and the Wigan humour is fantastic.

This programme is pretty much guaranteed to on the scroats knocking around the town who live for there weekly session on King Street, with the all the sights that you would expect to see round town on a Fri/Sat night. I can already see it as being a polar opposite of "the only way is Essex" by being a "grim oop Norf" type expose.

A real shame if the town is made a laughing stock.

If you can't find a frame on it's own then what I have done in the past is bought a framed picture and took it out of the frame. There used to be a place on crompton st that sold them (near uncle joes shop) but don't know if it's still there.

Try Wilkinsons in the town centre, they do alsorts of frames for cheap aswell.

Went to watch Broken Time at the Theatre Royal, St Helens last night. There's three shows left; 7.30pm tomorrow, 2pm & 7.30pm on Friday.

Loved it. Funny, intelligent and relevant with a terrific second half. I had goosebumps and a lump in my throat at the end. If you have the time go and see it.
