| Quote ="21-12"You haven't "come on" under your new coach, your still awful. As your league position proves.
Secondly, can you enlighten us all on an "illegal wrestle" please? Id love to find out what this is. When was an elbow used aswell? Didnt one of your players get binned for "wrestling" Ryan Hampshire's leg??'"
More apt in UFC than in WWE, at one point I was expecting Hampshire to start tapping.

| Quote ="Burtons Forearm"Wow! Brilliant. No matter how you dress it up its still the predictable and stale joke about being bitter. Is that the only comeback. Hiding behind your teams success and scoffing at other teams. As you've played such a significant part in Wigan's success I suppose you can. Me I don't see standing on a terrace eating more than your fair share of pies being that much of a contribution.
You should get together with Wigan Smear. His glib one liners are comical masterpieces. He even puts his own laughing heads on to inform you when he's being funny. Where you two the script writers for Little and Large?
When do I get my award? Do I have to wait till the end of the season or can I have it now please?
Why so smug as the current holders of nothing I don't know.
Especially for 21-12 (if he's allowed up this late) here' six hookers as good or better than McCheapshot
Roby-one of the best to play in super league period
Lunt-best hooker this season. Played significant part in Leeds' last premiership and a big reason why Huddersfield are doing so well.
Houghton-top tackler in super league-doesn't miss many unlike your man
Those three he isn't close to. He's no better than
Higham
Hodgson
Henderson
For those who mentioned Withers. Never condoned what he appeared to do. He'll be dealt with by the RFL. Unlike McCheapshot. I'll just have to get some solace from watching Paea laugh at his pathetic antics.
You put 84 and 46 on us with Tomkins. You scored 21 without him. Sorry for having an opinion.
For those who suggest I go back to my crap little club and crap ground-classy. The crap ground belongs to Rovers. We don't have to beg a tenancy and re-arrange our fixtures for a football team . We also haven't sold our clubs history and embarrassingly called ourselves Rhinos, Bulls, Giants, Sharks Prima Donas or WARRIORS.
You also used to buy all your players from saints, Bradford, widnes now you buy your players from us so we can't be that crap.
For the rest of you who have contributed funny and pertinent points good luck at Wembley and I hope Tomkins stays.'"
Oh dear did I touch a nerve?
Game, set and match and il see you next season.

| Quote ="Famous"Hull KR have consistently been the niggliest and dirtiest team that Wigan have played over the last few years.'"
The problem is, Wigan (with a couple of others) are at a different level, this was down to McGuire. Your defence wins you matches, the time and effort in training to get the 3rd man in the tackle, to hold up and wrestle and put the player on their backs is invaluable, Wigan do it VERY well. The issue is, teams like my team HKR are not as good at this as Wigan, it goes without saying if we let you up you'll be under our sticks in no time, so there has to be tactics to slow you down, surely those who watch the game understand this? Wasnt long ago there was a big fuss from Sky when it was timed that Wigan from point on tackle to play the ball it was 8 seconds, thats not changed, just others have got there with them. (nothing against the rules might i add, just brilliant coaching and execution). But please dont berate teams for coming to slow you down.
Quote It is like they know that is the only way they can compete and always try to drag Wigan down to their level, hence the penalties they give away and sin binning. '"
To be honest, not sure a team that boasts McIllorum can say much about dirtiness, i often find a dislike for Tomkins when he 'attempts' to defend someone scoring with his knees, Hock (thankfully for you, you lost that Penalty machine). The Withers thing was very out of character (not even sure he didnt try to get binned for the team warning to disappear).
Your comment re dragging down to our level, as above, that has to happen, its basic math, if your a 10, your clearly better than a 5, if the 5 can force a 7 and force the 10 to come down to a 7 they surely stand a chance? Otherwise the 10 would blow them away? Surely the smart people understand all this? Only a few seasons ago you were at the bottom of the league, you came to CP, Sam was on the bench, Noble in charge, Tim Smith took a big hit, went off, and Sam ripped us apart, Tim left and Sam became what he became, that would have happened anyways but involved us. You've been lesser than you are now and will be at some point in the future, so those who gloat fair enough, but be able to take it in a however long when someone knocks you off your perch as they say.
Quote Indeed if the play the ball had been refereed better they would have been penalised far more last night. '"
You won the count 9-4, with a few dubious ones in that, im not neutral obviously but we have got the royal rub against the green this season, back to Morgan's days when he kicked off about Thaler to the point he got fined, not sure what it is, yes we are not the golden boys of RL, is it because there is 2 from Hull and they dont like it? Who knows, love a good theory but for some reason differing rules apply, its not the first and wont be the last unfortunately. Even Martin Sadler had said on Twitter on Friday that HKR need to get the ref's onside, why? They should be impartial.
Quote They played well, probably to the best of their ability, but to try and make out they were completely innocent and were cheated out of a win is taking the Michael.'"
As above, not quite best but we managed to pull you into a game that more suited us, which we needed to do. When we had all those missing and young kids in and you ran 84-6 in on us, you played your game, why would we come and do that again? lol. Innocent? of course not, but please don't say you are also. Cheated? Cheated would mean done intentionally, not sure the RFL staff are clever enough for that, badly done too, but you cant say Rovers would have won if the try was not given, you could have scored another 4 in the second half, who knows, at that moment it was a bad call, which went against, hence the frustration.
The key moments...
Eden to Gleeson, wasnt forward, ill trawl the SL highlights and point on tons of Wigan passes worse if need be?
Charnley try given, if the post isnt there it hits the whitewash, isnt the rule if it doesnt give advantage? but the ball clearly hits the white line.
Charnley try dissallowed, similar try given to Yeaman at Magic...again inconsistency. Thought that was more a try.
Luaiki try dissallowed, thought that was rightly so, ball grounded and then lost, how he comes up with next tackle is quite funny.
Dobson to Eden forward pass, as above, wasnt forward.
Dobson try, clear obstruction, maybe the Charnley one was Silverwood seeing he'd missed it and gift a return? (the cynicism in me).

| Quote ="CyberPieMan"However, I'm confused about Josh's try, can someone clarify please: I thought the corner flags didn't count if they're knocked in the course of a try, but the RFL rules say that they're deemed to be "touch in-goal" (which is thus a contradiction in itself). If the ball touched the post then it should have been "no try", I assumed at the time (wrongly it seems) that knocking/touching the post is ok, so the try was given.
What am I missing?'"
Not sure if anyone answered this, my understanding was the new rule meant a player could touch or go through the corner flag but the ball could not touch it or it is deemed out of play. Didnt seem to match up with what Cummings said on Sky though. Seems the flag is a ok with the ball, as long as it touches the ground and not the white line, which i cant really see happening but apparently it can.

| I take it most of you on here actually went to the game- so will have missed the comment by carney (probably the ONLY non biased commentator on sky) about how KR were the most penalised team around the ruck.... That must be for a reason surely.
I thought (as Cummings did) that the ball hit the sideline and touch line simultaneously so should have been no try- would that have changed the outcome of the game? We will never know.
I was hoping for KR to nick it, But for me Wigan were the better side they looked the most composed side- KR kept panicking and despite pressure coming away with nothing through often their own mistakes (hepi-dear me lad hold onto the ball in that position with plays to come!)
Regardless of a team warning withers deserved 10 minutes - and IMO should get a ban- this argument of its no worse than..... Sounds like my primary school aged kids arguing, It was extremely cynical and blatant and needs to be punished, just because others may have got away with it if unseen by officials shouldn't mean they should ignore what they do see.
Any way good luck to both teams (except against my team obviously)

You're right all teams try and slow the PTB down. However you're missing the point. In the main Wigan try to get 3 in the tackle and get the man on his back to slow things down, as you rightly say there is absolutely nothing wrong with this.
However what Hull KR were doing on Friday was completely different. The Wigan forwards more often than not were finding their fronts in collision this therefore entitles them to a quick PTB, Hull KR didn't want this to happen and so were messing around to slow Wigan down.
The two are completely different.

| I wouldn't say we were lucky to win the decisions evend themselves out but i certainley share Wane's thoughs on how we went about the victory and yet again we was pretty poor on the night. It's certainly a sign of a good team but when we speak publicly about things we need to fix in training i think we should actually fix them not just talk about it, because over the past 5 or 6 games out error count has been the worst ive seen any Wigan team produce. Far too many knockon's for anybodys liking im not sure if it's productive or not highlighting players but one player who frustrates the life out of me is Matty Smith, he missed 3 important tackles and cost us 3 tries but then he kicks his socks off and pulls out a 40/20 from knowhere, his attack cant be faulted but in defence he's a liability and when it comes to the big games we cant afford to be so slack. I was very impressed with Scott Taylor and have been with a few of his recent performances he's starting to come to the fore and what a time to do it, he'd be in my wembley team, i think we struggled and the rest of the forwards were far from impressive hanson and tuson lacked any go forward but worked hard in the tackling deparment. Last but not least a great debut for young burgess nealry got the try too huge confidence booster for that young man. Next year we need a carbon copy of Sam otherwise our attacking system will need to change it doesn't work with him missing, bring on the giants!!!!

That was my point though. HKR are not as good at getting that 3rd man in and finding the player on their back, so what is the alternative? Take the chance of holding down and giving away a pen to slow down, surely cannot be penalised every single tackle, or allow Wigan (one of the quickest attacking sides going) to get a head of steam? Its a smart tactic in its own way, but has massive risk. Wigan do it within the rules, they hold up with 2, get a 3rd man in and turn, the reason it looks more of a penalty is because it looks lazy what HKR are doing, i guarentee the time between the 2 is the same if not longer in Wigan's book. Its the saying 'more than one way to skin a cat', in this instance Wigan do it within the rules but probably skin it better at the same time.

I agreed with what you're saying but my point is your fans can't moan when your lot are on the wrong end of the penalty count.
IMO silverwood let KR get away with all sorts. if Wigan are more dominant in collision they are entitled to a quick PTB.

I understand what you're saying but would pick you up on one point; why can't they be penalised every tackle if they're infringing every tackle? Surely the point is to stop infringing, not to allow it because they refuse to stop? Let me put that statement in perspective; If the infringement was head high tackles rather than slowing the play the ball down would you suggest the same principle applied and that they should be allowed if one team does enough of them during a game? It's interesting that some people are using the penalty count as some indicator that KR are somehow hard done by. It seems to me that they are the most penalised team (certainly in the game on Friday) because they infringed more often. That's exactly as it should be.

I see what you are saying, but its context and deliverance.
HKR have been penalised, mainly because we are not fast enough, or dont possess the ability to slow the ruck down enough and thus on the back foot. As ive seen every minute so far this season, most high shots come from being on the back foot, the holding down ive covered. To answer your question, they should be pinned. If i was coach, knowing how poor the referees are, i would instruct my team to slow down until penalised, if you get away with it why not use it? Wigan did for a few seasons before mastering the art of slowing it down legally.
But now the problem seems to be we are getting picked for every little thing, Silverwood couldnt give 50 pens against on Friday, everyone would moan the game was spoilt, yeah we have controversy with the VR not having his glasses on but you cant penalise every tackle, there should be a line, yes we was bending it, but didnt always break it.
The funny thing about holding down, you could hold down for say 8 seconds in the middle of the park, but if you made a break and wanted to play quick, anything over 5 and your likely in the bin. Where is the consistency in that? Should have a time on it, or a rough count in the head, so soon as the player is on the ground you can hold for x seconds, must be clear by that. Shouldnt be too hard to govern? the idiots with the flags could count?

| the ref shouts held when he deems the tackle is complete, if any tackling player(s) still have a hand on the ball carrier 3 seconds after this he blows for penalty. Won't take the players or coaches long to realise you can't hang on forever....BUT unfortunately we don't have officials who can count to 3 as well as look at the line for offside, check for being square at the play and keep count of the number of tackles.......
If the officials all policed the lying on to the same standard it would be a help, but they all seem to have their own idea how to interpret the rules

It depends on the tackle. Usually when a player is tackled after a break both players are able to get up within 2 seconds, because there's only two of them involved and it'll most likely be a non-dominant tackle round the legs. On the other hand, in the middle you might have a forward fighting for metres with 3 defenders on him, then hitting the deck after the ref calls held with the defenders coming down with him and getting tangled up. It's common sense that Tomkins catching Hall by his bootlaces after a break is going to take far less time than Peacock trundling it up the middle. As such refs just need to use their judgement as they currently do.

| After seeing the forward pass again that Hull KR fans are crying about and saying wasnt forward, I would love to hear their thoughts about the short pass immediately before this one, that was blatently forward, and wasnt given.

| I'd be more worried at how Hull KR go from competitive to also-rans just because Sam Tomkins played.

Hahah, so what another pile of dog***t from messrs. Hemmings, Clarke, Slaphead, etc. Will the ref get an apology? There's about as much chance of our dog saying Miaow.

| Not sure how a still photo is proof or not of a try- the ball could have been planted firmly on the sideline a split second prior to that shot. You can't look at one photo in isolation.

It was never a try in the memory of man but the disallowed one was imo.

The video ref has the 'actual time' of the still available to him, he can check exactly where and when the ball touched the ground, it seems he got it right, well done.
