They should make Wire play Huddersfield if they're doing the derbies again. It's as muich a derby as Wire v Salford and it would be a far more entertaining and interesting game, especially after Saturday nights game in the playoffs

Are they the first round? If it is Us v Saints how will they decide who loses their home game? Another nightmare is around the corner imo.

I know its not in summer(even though we don't have one!) I am still going as I will be that deprived of rugby league I would even walk to Cardiff if I had to!

I know warrington are going to have a somewhat easier game than us.. what about Leeds they've got Bradford!!.

If you've never been to MM then give it a go. I have been to all four and have a great time at all of them. I am also glad its back at Cardiff. Its a great venue which is ideal for the MM concept.

Which are aditional fixtures, It doesnt matter which round its played. Unless we are now playing 26 games.

Why not have Wire v Hudds and Salford v Crusaders. That would be fairer.

Thats what i thought. Making it the 1st round fixtures will cause even more uproar than having the event to start with!

Otherwise, either Wigan or Saints would have to pass up a 14k (Saints) or 25k (Wigan) crowd, for a 1/6 share of the takings from a crowd of around 30k (most paying vastly reduced ticket prices anyway - e.g £15 for 3 matches = £5 per match).

Don't kid yourself - These are an extra round of fixtures that mean that our league can NEVER be a fair fight.

Why don't they wait till the weekend before fixture is over, then play 1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th and so on.

The only fair fixtures are based on this seasons final table, 1 v 2, 3 v 4 etc

It's the RFL, they're not interested in fair, they just want to get as many attending as they possibly can, in a vain attempt to justify its existence.

Great weekend away to start the season BUT a pointless weekend to promote the game.

England v Wales in the 6 nations, Cardiff v Swansea both on the same weekend.

Salford will be no push overs next season

Stay away. Vote with your hard earned cash, and dont buy the tickets. the RL need a kick up the arris from the fans. We are treated like we mean and bring nothing to the game. We are a minor afterthought in decision making by the powers that be. The RL will carry on treating fans like this if we do not say enough is enough. We do not need this weekend, most fans i've spoken to dont want it anymore, especially on a non Bank Holiday weekend in the middle of winter.
Take off your i wont have seen any RL specks for four months, and ask yourselves why do we need this event, that in the last few years was failing anyway.
I love this game, but will not be taken for granted by the n0bs who run it.
If you are desperate for a weekend on the ale save your MM money and go to Catalans instead, a place where the locals do actually support and appreciate the game.

Trying to get something cancelled that other people enjoy strikes me as a dour and miserable attitude. Lighten up.

We've made the decision not to go. We've been to all the other four and enjoyed them, but I won't sit and watch all the games over the two day period, freeze my gonads off and get fleeced for hotel prices.
We may sod off to Tenerife and watch it at my mates bar. Failing that we'll put the money aside and have a couple of extra days away for the Catalan game.

Everyone has their own opinion and mine is slightly different to yours:

Do we need the MM weekend? No
Will I be desperate for a fix by then? Most definatley
Do I want a weekend on the ale? Why the hell not
Will I go to Catalans instead? Erm no I'll go aswell, becasue whereever my team play I want to be there and think you'll find many feel the same.

I fully understand your comments about the RFL don't listen to what the fans want but it will not and never will deter me from going to a weekend that I know I will thoroughly enjoy.

Unfortunatley we live in a country where the round ball is the national sport and try as we may this will never change.

Same... Ive been to all 4 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will be giving this one a miss due to the reasons above.

For me they need to move the cup final forward to any weekend in July / August and have the MM on the bank holiday weekend in August that would be perfect. That way you have the weather and no other sporting event to compete with.

What about the team defo coming up to superleague.:-\

This is exactly the attitude RL want from the fans and in my opinion are taking the mick out of us all. I hope you enjoy your weekend down in deepest coldest Wales and hope Wigan win as always.
I along with nine others have been to the last four weekends and enjoyed them, but in my heart i knew that the event was failing. The RL will not listen and have an arrogance about themselves and their beloved MM. We are not going this year nor others we know and always meet up with for a few drinks pre and post match from other clubs. I really do think that this year the RL have gone to far and will in Feb end up with a very embarrassing weekend. More ammo for the anti Rugby pro football brigade to throw at us.
