| Just noticed this on Stevo's playoff previews on SkySports website:
STEVO SAYS: It is one of the most interesting games of the weekend. Catalans have a few problems in defence but so do Hull KR. Paul Dobson is the man that Catalans have to shut down and if they do then I can see them winning this one.
Who's Paul Dobson!?

| Says on the Hull board that Brent Webb gestured to the Hull fans on sunday.
Will he get a large fine and thousands of fans calling for a ban?

Some on here may remember my post about Rafael Nadal's watch that's so light it floats on water. Well you, yes you have the opportunity to purchase that very watch worn by the man himself!

Surely the Rugby Gods won't be that cruel to the Whinos on Friday evening will they?
www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-15021323
Quote The US space agency (Nasa) says that its out-of-control climate satellite is expected to crash to Earth sometime on Friday evening (GMT).
There is still much uncertainty over when and where the satellite will re-enter the atmosphere'"
Quote The spacecraft could pass over Britain during its final passes over the planet.
Given that some 70% of the Earth's surface is covered by water, a splash-down for the debris seems most likely. But there remains a real possibility that some debris could fall on land.'"

Not in the trade. But rather an avid collector and flipper, have been since my early twenties. Caught the bug from my father many moons ago. It's my other great passion alongside Rugby League.
I've been to the Basel fair a few times in the past decade.
www.baselworld.com/en-US.aspx
I'm at present in the process of greasing the wheels to be hopefully invited to SIHH next year. A long time dream of mine.
www.sihh.org/2012/index.php?page=sihh_en
A good friend works for Watches of Switzerland and has promised for years to get me an invite. The difference this year being I'm going to try and take him up on it. Wish me luck!
Is it something that you have an interest in Andy?
Unfortunately in these modern times most people don't feel the need to wear a watch, they'd rather use their mobile phone to tell the time. For me it's the engineering and precision with which these things are created that interests me so much. When you see the work that goes into creating certain timepieces it's truly astonishing. I would have to say though, that it's the history that so many of these brands have that I find most interesting. Take the history of Panerai for example, which is what I have partly in my sig.

I like a nice timepiece but nothing of the quality you'll be interested in.
Reason I ask, was I was listening to a debate on 5Live a few months ago about the recession and how some people had set up business on their own and were successful even in current times. One of the people they spoke to was a bloke who lived up north who had decided to use some redundancy to set-up a high-end 2nd hand watch business because it was something he was knowledgeable on. He didn't have the overheads of the London based retailers and could undercut simply by travelling around to clients over the country.

Ah right interesting. Tough job dealing in watches particularly vintage stuff. The difficulty in telling the real stuff from the fake stuff is becoming increasingly difficult. You really have to know what your looking for in each watch, and it varies dramatically from model to model, brand to brand. As they say" Buy the seller not the watch".
www.hodinkee.com/blog/2011/9/24/ ... -sale.html
I've personally never bought a new watch in my life, they've all been pre-owned. For varying reason's to be honest. All I ever ask from a purchase is to be able to get back out more or less what I paid for it. I don't mind losing a few hundred quid here and there, particularly if I've owned the watch three or four years. Really all I care about is that I don't lose thousands. I laugh sometimes when I'm in Berry's in Leeds, and see people spending £8,000 plus on a watch that as soon as they walk out of the door with, it's lost 50% of it's value. Ok if you've got it to lose I suppose.
The video below is well worth watching if you've got a spare 10 - 15 minutes.

| It looks alright to me. I know people in management who do many more than 35 hours a week and are on the same money or less. When you add in health insurance, a pension and over three weeks holiday a year for working in the sport you love, it looks very attractive. The downside of course is that you have to work in Yorkshire.

| They are actually making a program like "The Only way is Essex" about girls from Wigan, a girl at my work knows somebody that is going to be in it, I dread to even think what this will be like, a load of "Pier girls" talking about which bikini to wear on Friday night. Dear Lord.
