Walmsley is much better than Thompson. Very different players but I know which one I would have preferred to keep! (setting aside age obviously) |

That's really interesting to hear. Why so? I always saw Thompson as a player with a much bigger upside. |

Walmsley would be one of the best props in the NRL.
Too many British fans view NRL players as gods, all the top super league players (particularly forwards) would also be top/very good NRL players.

I absolutely agree with all that and it frustrates the life out of me how we do down our own players. My point above was simply that he wouldn’t have it all his own way over there like he does here. Would he be one of the top ten props in the NRL? Yes I think he would. Would he dominate with ease and be almost unstoppable as he seems here? No, not in my opinion. He would have some ups and downs. |

I think you only need to look at Walmsley's performances since Thompson left to know why so. He's been absolutely phenomenal. |
