| ok , i have just wasted about 10 or 15 mins of my life looking on the official club web site at this seasons match reports and it looks like you are wrong rogues
from the wakey game (1st in super league) ...to when smith got hurt at HKR
smith has STARTED 12 times
sam ??? 9
not interested who was on the bench or not in the squad
so , just going of that figure , disregarding when both players have been either injured or unavailable , who would you say started the most games under noble??

that doesn't show the whole picture though does it.
The amount of times Sam has started on the bench, which was the correct call every time imo because he's a young lad in his FIRST SEASON!
Noble and everyone else couldn't and shouldn't have expected him to start every game and to do 80 minutes.

Even more amusing is the fact that a lot of the people who were moaning about young British players being squeezed out of the team by Aussies now want to replace a proven successful British coach with an untested Aussie!!
You couldn't make it up.'"
If Noble had done his job properly, we'd be comfortably at the top of the table by how. The same for last year, and the year before.
This team have shown that, when they get it right, they can take the two league leaders apart even while understrength.
The real pity is, under Noble they don't get it right often enough.

smith and sam being one
a few posters have had a pop at me , said i was wrong , 1 resulting to personal insults ,

He has don his job properly in this stupid league we have its about finishing in the top 8 and playing well at the end of the season. We stand a very good chance to get to 2 finals this year being good at the end of the season is doing his job right.
In the early games we lost i dont think there was more than 12 points in it in any of them. We have had the one or two stupid losses but so have all the clubs.

Absolutely spot on, if we hadn't started the season so crap and had actually started it with some consistency, instead of battling for 5th position we could have been fighting it out with saints and Leeds for top spot. If Noble is in charge next year I'll only be buying the half season ticket because it's only in the latter part of the season that the players and Noble get there act together. Yes Nobles done well over these last 6 weeks but if Nobles in charge next year the same thing will happen again, we'll have a poor start and then come strong towards the end, but ultimately coming up short because we've left are selves with to much to do and not enough time to do it, Noble out for me.

Whether he's done his job properly this year - which is the first one in which we've had the top 8 play-off - remains to be seen. No-one can call that yet, with two months still to go.
He didn't do it properly during the last two seasons, because we were so positioned by the time of the play-offs that we had mountains to climb that burned us out by the semi-finals.

Are Saints happy about their performances at Salford and at home to Wakefield. Are Leeds happy about the way they played against Salford and Bradford.

John Dorahy was a joke who took over a world class side and almost wrecked it.
Brian Noble took over a side about to be relegated, saved them, then has took them to two Challenge Cup semi finals and two Superleague semi finals.
Now go and figure who
a) Had the most difficult task
b) who is the better coach.
Where is Dorahy now?
You would like Justin Morgan as coach.
What has he won?

He has still done better than any of our coaches since M.G. and he had a lot better squad to coach than Noble has had.

Even in a top 8 system the higher up the league you finish the better the advantage. Yet again we will finish lower than our true position and make it harder for ourselves than we should have done. That will be the third season running we've underachieved in the regular rounds and had to live with the consequences.
i.e. Noble has not done his job properly if he had we certainly wouldn't have lost 10 games this season and now be relying on Hull KR to go on a run of bad form so we can try and make the top 4.

| yes , i would take morgan immediately , noble was brought in to save us from relegation , this he did
stuart fielden was brought in to beef up the pack , would you resign him ?
for me , morgan has a better understanding of the modern game , given a decent side , he would win things . tactically , i feel he is a better coach than noble

I take exception to the fact he saved Wigan personally, i see it that the sacking of Millward saved Wigan.
The fact that a coach has won nothing does not mean they are a bad coach, it is about maximising the potential within the team.
Brian Smith is not a bad coach, Mike Gregory was not a bad coach.
I think you cans see when things are right and wrong for much of his time at Wigan under Noble the team has looked badly coached.

but not with us.
I know what your saying, we're definately in a much better position overall as a club. But the problem for me is that we have had a top 2/3 team this year and last, even more so this year.
We know Noble can get the team to perform in the 2nd half of the season, but why can't he do it in the first half? if the team played all season like they did now, we'd be top of the table and noone would we asking for noble to be sacked.
The team is showing it has had the ability all along, but why can noble only harness it towards the end of the year!

If I wanted to support Bradford I'd go to Odsal.
Wigan have underachieved over the course of the last three seasons under Noble - his record at Bradford I couldn't give a toss about because it has zero affect on his Wigan record.
I bet you wouldn't have defended Millward by using his Stains record would you?
