What about the International stage? The players we have kept such as Locky and Hock have all gone onto play in the big games in either the Tri Nations or World Cup. Have the likes of Briscoe, Wild, Robinson, Hodgson, Brown, Aswpinwall etc... pulled on an International rep jersey since leaving us? No they haven't.

trolls who troll when wigan win and wigan lose, they troll about all the players and all the coaching staff. Category 1 trolls also sometimes know more about wigan than wigan fans do. They also like to deny that rugby league existed before 1996 especially saints trolls

category 2 troll

these trolls are result dependant, they like to troll when their teams win but when they lose they can not be seen for weeks. Category 2 trolls also like to deny rugby league existed before 1996

Category 3 trolls

These trolls like to troll about the salary cap. These type of trolls enjoy gloating about wigan breaking the salary cap time and time again but they do not have a clue of the facts. These types of trolls also like to state that wigan lead to their downfall, these type of trolls usually are from yorkshire and around the castleford area.

Category 4 trolls

these trolls are trolls who talk about anything and everything to do with wigan, they like to give wigan stick and refuse to give wigan praise. they troll when wigan lose but do not really base their arguement on anything other than rubbish

category 5 trolls

these trolls are football fans, they are afraid to admit that rugby league exists and do not like to say that rugby league exists in wigan. these type of trolls also seem to think that the grass is not greener for the other side



category 6 fans

these trolls should retire, they do not have a clue what they are talking about and wigan fans like to laugh at this type of troll, these are that funny that some wigan fans cry of laughter. the funny thing about this type of troll is that they think they are a category 1 troll when they are not.

I think this is where you see the Saints decline, remember Farrell leaving your lot, it isn't just about the playing ability also the effect he has on the dressing room,being a leader etc. Sl is getting closer now and not really any teams breaking away.

I actually think that getting a replacement in (hopefully Eastmond if he can stay fit) may make us a better team - we're not as reliant on Long as we were say 3 years ago - as shown by Wilkin slotting in there away at Leeds in the cup.

Barrett was the one man in a one man team. Different to Long's current role at Saints.

I think Saints are in a more fortunate position then we were in that they do have a few back up leaders like Wellens, Graham and Wilkin whereas we didn't really have that luxury.

Farrell was Wigan, he was our leader and best player and to play without him was unthinkable. He dragged a poor side through games in his last couple of years with sheer will and determination and when he went that was that for us.

And thats the point i'm trying to put across to my friend who supports saints..on the playing field they can bring in a better player than long and be fine

But will he have the presence that long had in the dressing room which the players looked to when times are hard. yes they willl have cunningham but only for 1-2 years more. thats what wigan lost and never got back.

yep, KC will be more of an off-field loss than Long - so hopefully he will stay within the club in some capacity as Sculthorpe has done, and Radlinski at Wigan. As you say though, once Long and KC retire, Wellens will still be around as captain and leader, then Graham behind him. So not quite as disastrous as Wigan losing Farrell, Pongia, Lam, Smith etc all in one swoop.
