Don't blame other people for his apparent misgivings. He is a grown man who can make his own mind up on things.

I have heard all the stories about Gleeson's off the field antics and it is a cause for concern at a Wigan club that has not performed so far this season.

I am still in two minds about Gleeson simply because he could be pi$$ poor for us and finish his career possibly at Wigan by 'doing a Vaealiki' if his personal problems continue to haunt him. Of course he could have beaten his demons and if he can perform even like he did last season for the Wire he will be an excellent addition to the squad.

Not sure how it will pan out for him but will be interested and hopefully exciting to see.

I've no doubt that Gleeson will improve the team. But if that improvement is at the cost of a whopping contract that ties him to the club long after his usefulness has diminished (see: Fielden) and/or team disunity I’d say it’s a bad deal.

Time will tell.

He has stated he is off the grog. People need to give him a chance, Wire fans where obviously going to dig all these things out once he left their poxy club.

I went shopping round there on saturday cos we got a free nights stay at the Village Hotel. Certainly opened my eyes that place its like entering a different world. I can only describe the place as one big open air Star Wars Bar.

He was seen out round Billinge Last Night in the Billinge Arms!
He then went to Wigan and was seen Down King St!
He later went to Pemps (The Night club Not the T-Shirt Magnets house!)
Followed by a Trip to the Cow shed!
At 6am he was seen stumbling out of Santi Bag with a Vindaloo where he puked, fell unconcious and Sh3t himself!

However he was celebrating the fact that he's got away from Warrington so you can forgive him!

It is also a Known fact that ALL the Warrington fans who chose to ignore the rumours over the last 3/4 years have suddenly now become experts in these so called rumours and see them as FACTS and Wigan fans Vice/Versa!

In the End, just accpet that as it stands, Wigan have got the Better of the deal.

I get it! Long time to get the common denominator. To be fair though, when it came to Gleeson and Briers I think most with a modicum of nouse knew that they weren't exactly clean living athletes.

Alex, I have no concern for Gleeson, well I do actually I get annoyed when a player who is so good can't make sacrifices to be that little bit better. I just can't be doing with hypocrisy, see cadoo for reference.

At least 10 of the 14 Super League clubs are thought to be affected including all the major sides such as Leeds, St Helens and Warrington, whose chief executive, Andy Gatcliffe, revealed that his club are already in discussions with both the Revenue and the Rugby Football League.

"We at Warrington Wolves took quite a lead on this, and we have been looking at the situation with the players, legal advisers and the tax people to find out how best to handle it," said Gatcliffe. I've witnessed a ''Martin Gleeson'' moment and was absolutely p**sed off/gutted/annoyed. If somebody told me we would eventually signed him I would of flipped. However, since that day I can't say I've seen him out in Wigan or Walkabout since, and that was 2 years ago, so I think he has calmed down since then.

Yeah, maybe a bit of hypocrisy but if I thought/knew he was regulary still upto his old ways, then I'd be totally against the signing. I've seen/heard no believable evidence within the last two years to suggest he is up to his old ways, therefore I'm happy to have signed a player who I see and only hear about on the pitch.
