Webb is a total turd of the highest order and got what he deserved. He threw a ghost elbow at Westwood them did the same with the head whilst mouthing off and Westwood just did what anybody his size would do and stand his ground. When Webb decided to come at him he put him on his backside.

I like Westwood, he's an honest and hard player who deserves respect. I hold him in even higher esteem after tonight.

To be honest the ref "completely lost control" tonight and spoiled what could have been a great game ..........Seem to be saying this more and more as each season passes, when will we finally get a Match Officials Director that holds officials accountable for "Poor Performances" that are continually spoiling our great sport of Rugby League? Wish every game could be played and officiated in the same spirit as last weeks.

Absolutely right. Richard Silverwood seems to allow lying on at the tackle which frustrates both players and crowd. Elima and Webb were Wire's best two players tonight, Elima being a one man penalty machine, Benny Westwood was a bit daft going after Webb, but if you look at the tackle before the fight, the main trouble was caused by Henderson putting an elbow into Westwood's face.

I thought Warrington were lucky to get the penalty from the Elima incident with Evans. I didn't think he made contact with the head and obviously Westwood could have been cited for the reaction, but Catalans really are their worst enemies at times.

Silverwood could and should have taken positive action earlier and the naughty play would have stopped. Pryce was naughty even though Myler played it a little. Nice game of biff. Webb was a bit of a disgrace tonight, but fwiw on the two incidents he actually did get sin binned for were hardly worthy of it. Mind you there was plenty he and Elima could've walked for anyway.

Nice to see Westwood have a pop at the smallest man on the pitch again, funny he didn't have a pop at Casty, Anderson, or anyone else that could potentially put him on his @rse.

As for the incident, Westwood walked in front of the play the ball to have a go at Webb, we all know Webb is a gobby tool but he was only giving it verbals, Westwood had every intention to start throwing punches.

We had 4 players sent off in total last year for "striking" so if there is any consistency, they'll both get a 2 match ban for throwing punches wont they?

Last year i thought they got it wrong, bit of biff between two players should always be a yellow imo, McIlorum hitting Elima last season was different, it wasn't biff, it was a punch out of nothing with no retaliation.
The Saints game at Magic though should just have been a load of yellow cards.

I thought the yellow was fair. Ended his game and with the incident on report he could still cop a ban. Had he sent him off it could have made the last 10 minutes even worse. Probably the only good bit of reffing in the whole match.

He went after a player and punched him repeatedly, but won't be banned. Mossop got banned for a single punch on someone who had attacked a team mate from behind. Had Faz walked 15 yards to punch Wire's headless chicken number 7, say, we'd have had meltdown and tears before bed time. Plus a ban.

The fight should have never happened. Thenrefnshould have blown up penalising Westwood for being clearly offside disregarding the rules of the game walking away from his offensive line over to Webb, surely the ref or lines men should have picked up on that.

And for the Wigan fans making it about Wigan claiming 'we're hard done by' and somehow making the thread about how Wigan are unfairly treated need to grow up and stop crying.

Finally I admit I like to watch fights etc in our game. I find it all entertaining.

Fact is though, as much as I also like a fight and a bit of biff, there isnt any consistency. The point I was making is that it is a fact that we had 4 players sent off last year for "striking" that all recieved bans. 2 players commited the same offence last night but will probably get nothing. Personally I think it should be a sin bin, and thats it, but if you start sending people off, you have to be consistent. The Referee's made a rod for there own backs last season unfortunately.

Forgive me for sticking up for my team and wanting a level playing field. Perhaps in the world cup this year we can re-employ the ref who let Jonathan Thurstan forearm smash Ryan Hall in the face preventing him from scoring a match winning try without as little as a sin binning.
I think the point is, I pay £20+ to watch a ref spoil a match for me at Wigan, and if I watch the same offence on the telly they award a different decision. I have bad memories of Wigan being robbed and GB (Morley off after 7seconds?) sick of being ripped off and robbed. We all know who the dirty players are and they get special treatment on and off the pitch.

Webbs first yellow was for pushing Riley when he went to play the ball.

Elima did make contact with Evans. It was right in front of me and even closer in front of the linesman. Poor from both sides and the officials.

Yellow and red were the same outcome there. Do you really think the Warrington players would have escalated thing because Westwood got a different colour of card? I'm not convinced.

As a matter of principle, I'm still struggling to think of something that could be any more clear cut as a red than chasing a retreating player for a couple of plays and starting a fight (moments after being warned for starting another); especially when you consider that pure sloppy play can result in reds.

Not really bothered about the wigan conspiracies - I completely agree that McIlorum should've been sent off last year, it was a plain stupid overreaction to him thinking Elima had elbowed him (iirc)
