In Wigan, we do science to show that the more often something is done, the more accurate it becomes. In other words, a 27 week tournament, will be more accurate in showin the best team than a 4 week tournament will.

We have seen evidence of "choking" imo. However, we do seem to learn from it and come back the following week. Could be our get out of jail card.

Wigan may well beat Leeds by a wide margin and may also win the title (not the rather meaningless league leaders trophy). Unfortunately I doubt there's muich correlation between the two events.

Let me put it more simply for you, since you instead prefer to masquerade around as forum bodyguard and ignore your original OP of:



1. Given your "achilles heel" why does a 2 point game lay down "a marker"?
2. What basis do you have for a firm belief that you are able to take them "to the cleaners" in front of their own crowd, based on your record at Headingley? DW is irrelevant. For so many reasons.
3. Why does a game played against a side in the CC semi the week after, "lay down a marker", whether you feel they are right in doing so or not?
4. Precisely what is your point?

The last game at Headingley was 12-10 in Leeds's favour. Leeds scraped a win, yet they enjoyed home advantage and met a Wigan side that day that was very off form by its own standards and had to play for 20 minutes with only 12 men. That's one reason why I still feel that in 2010 - not in 2009 or 2008 or 2007, or any of the other seasons you'd rather talk about (during which seasons, however, Wigan's record at Headingley still wasn't that bad) - Wigan are a siginficantly better organised, coached, fitter and more motivated side than Leeds. In terms of stats alone, they have a match points advantage of 361. In isolation, that is not as impressive as it sounds, but it does mean that Wigan's attack record is significantly better than Leeds, as is their defensive record. Now this isn't something I've plucked out of the air. It's a pattern we've seem demonstrated for much of this season. On that basis, I feel that Wigan are capable - on their day - of getting a big win over Leeds.

That's the last time I'm going to give you an explanation of my view until you have clearly, concisely and factually explained why you think Wigan are incapable of getting this big win. And all the name-calling, prevaricating and smartry in the world won't cut it. I want some factual analysis.
