Not just you mate. I'd take him and with decent coaching I reckon his style would give us something a bit different. All our props are similar in style. They are grafters and with this bloke will work hard but still have that aggressive streak.
Good coaching and unleash him!

Paul Woods a very good player, I'd genuinely say better than Coley or Prescott and I would have been happy had we signed him.

Coley of last year, no. But Coley has (imo) been noticeably less effective this year, still a good player mind but at the same time Paul Wood has stepped it up a bit.
www.superleague.co.uk/statistics ... eason=2011
Coleys Metres per carry = 6.87
Woods metres per carry = 7.11
Granted more errors, but thats in a couple more games and playing a much more offload centred game.

| Everyone keeps mentioning him as a prop, but more often than not he has played in the 2nd row, on the edge. He has a good step, good fend and has a good passing game for a big guy. Hull use him incorrectly IMO - with a good coach, he could be devastating

Can't say I ever hear name mentioned much if at all from those who regularly watch the reserves. He's certainly not one of our stand out youngsters.
Good luck to him though if it is indeed true.

| I really dont see what the big downer is regards Lauaki.
For a start even if we do sign him we'll still have Fielden, Lima, Prescott and Mossop plus the Hock and Crosby. If he's a cheapish option to add depth to our front row i think it could be quite an astute signing as he has bags of potential.
If we got him say on a one year deal with a futher 1 or 2 in our favour looking at him to improve his all around game. Mainly his structure within a team and ill discipline it could work out brilliantly.
One things for sure this "potential" kind of signing wont be like Karl Pryce. Lauaki will never be questioned for his passion and commitment.

I agree, the only thing is it will take up one of the quota spots.

| I agree that could be a problem, am i right in thinking that the 5 below are our quota players at this moment in time ?
Roberts
Finch
Lima
Hoffman
Cross
If so with Hoff and Cross both moving after this year then even with Lauaki we'd still have another spot, and tbh i dont see us making more than 1 or 2 quota signings at the end of this season. Possibly an overseas centre, SH or hooker.

| FWIW I think Lauaki would be a revelation at a club like Wigan. The only reason he hasnt lived up to his potential at Hull is because of Agar. Agar uses him as an prop because our back row is probably the strongest area of our squad, but really Lauaki is a back rower. He's got a great pair of hands, good footwork and obviously he's an aggressive bugger, but unfortunately Agar just sees the latter, hence why he's just used as a battering ram. Under the right coach I think he could be devastating, but while he's at Hull any talent he has got will be coached out of him. I hope he does sign for Wigan because like I say, used correctly, he could be a fantastic player.

| As a player he can destroy the people he runs into at times but he rarely does it. I think he could be a very handy player under the guidance of our staff.
