I've been onto the club about this Matty. They are happy for us to fly the big wavers from the bottom of the South Stand on telescopic poles. We mentioned Anfield style displays right at the start and the club contacted the safety officer at Liverpool back then. We already have 5 big wavers and the idea is to use flags like 'The Wigan Way' on 2 sticks behind these flags because they are made of lighter material. The plan is to hammer the bottom of the South (East side corner) with a display because that is the least populated part of the stand. Hopefully the concept of this being an area where fans can go with this style of flag and banners will catch on pretty quickly. What we've got to be careful about is not p!$$in folk off who are sat behind them. With a bit of tactful diplomacy and explanation that we'll put them down before kick off, they should be OK about it. We'll definately step things up one or two levels next season

When it comes to flags they wrote the book.
I heard that someone (another Wigan RL/Liverpool fan) was after a flag with UNRIVALLED PAST, GLORIOUS FUTURE on it although I can't recall who. If you see this let me know.

Im a fan of flags with were people are from on them, as you say "Ashton Branch" or along them lines. Looking forward to our new "ARROGANCE IS INHERITED THROUGH SUCCESS" flag arriving, personally I think thats going to be our number 1 flag.

Nogga, the all black flag you said is a good idea, but myself and Chris have discussed having it done on a white background to be put on 2 sticks to hold up.

The Boston flag is also ordered and it looks as though next season is going to be a fascinating sight in the South stand, especially pre kick off when the big wavers will be out at the front of the stand. I hear other clubs are looking to immitate what we have done, but it will take some doing to get anywhere near what we have achieved now. As my flag says "WE HAVE ACHIEVED WHAT YOU CAN ONLY DREAM OF"

White lettering, Red backround, plain and simple, when we priced it though it was a bl00dy fortune for all the lettering! But we'll see what happens, its still in the pipeline

Are the new flags coming to the "do" on the 20th November.

The "ARROGANCE IS INHERITED BY SUCCESS" will be doing if its arrived, as for the big wavers, I very much doubt it, they are HUGE.

We need to take some of the flags there, just to show what has been achieved in such a relatively short time.

Id expect we will be hanging up as many as we possibly can.

Depends mate on your message. I reckon if we had a few around 5 x 3ft they would fit in with everything else. We'll have a couple of 10 x 5ft flags on 2 sticks at the WCC. We need to get into home made 2 stick flags as well. What's your idea?

Love it! Are you thinking the same size as the 'we see things' flag shown a couple of pages back? Thats about 12ft tall by 5th wide I reckon. Be worth it
