I'm sure Hansen is our current longest serving player, along with Lockers and Hock.

Not quite. Tesco paid a 'shell only' cost, the club picking up the tab for the fit-out costs.

| They paid for the stadium, its was part of the planning application as to it getting accepted. They do it a lot to try and sway the council in favour. I was a senior manager at the Warrington store when it opened and its pretty common knowledge.

I am suprised that as a "senior manager" with Tesco you do not appear to understand what "fit-out" means.
Warrington Rugby Club paid for the "fit out" of the stadium not Tesco. This was paid for through debt finance which represents the loan that the club is still paying.

Thats the biggest load of biased twaddle I have ever read. No wonder the writer wished to remain anonymous.
I was at Murrayfield and sat near the Castleford fans who caused trouble and it was they who were evicted by the stewards. So the writer of the twaddle should take the trouble to get his facts right before spouting off with misleading diatribe.

i do believe its called an opinion! yours is different because you support wigan (im guessing), but its all down to opinion, im not saying i agree with the writer, but as you should know, after every warrington v wigan game, some wigan fan has been part of 'a violent act', started by warrington fans, and we are all labelled scum. That is the main problem with opinions, they are always biased.

So are you saying that Tesco paid the lot but Wire have to pay back the loan for the "fit out" but not for the actual building?
(maybe if someone asks a question the Wire fan will understand the point lol)

That may be what he is saying but just because some shelf-stacker from Tesco says it is on an internet forum doesn't mean its true (see also myth about only 5 clubs operating at maximum salary cap). You could easily research the likes of Warrington's accounts if you wanted facts such as the following:
Barr (Tesco's stadium contractor) handed the stadium over to the club in October 2003 so that the club could do the fit-out ready for the first game in February 2004. The club has since that date continued to fit-out the stadium at their expense (in partnership with Heathcotes, local NHS Trust and the club's charitable foundation). In fact even this week they announced the fitting-out of aditional corporate boxes - do we think they have paid for them using Tesco Club Points?
Tesco did not, have not and do not contriubute to the fitting out of the Halliwell Jones Stadium. Is it so difficult for you and Pieman to understand?

Yes, which has not been denied by anybody however Tesco did not pay for or arrange the FIT-OUT of the stadium eg banquetting facilities, offices, retail etc.
Are you claiming they did?

I am not saying that is the case I am questioning it you idiot. I dont particularly care tbh I think its a bit bad that the Council was swayed to allow a tesco they had originally rejected to be built because they paid for a Rugby Stadium though.

| To paraphrase 21 - 12
"oh dear......................who cares?"
Does it matter who owns the DW stadium, or who paid for the HJ or the Saints new stadium.
In one word no.
Stop behaving like spoilt kids.
