Its done wonders for League, the game was feckin crap. St Pats and any other amateur club could have played and shown better Rugby skills.

Read your history books and find out why we play the game at all and then decide why league players should play the other code.

No, I think it more a case of playing with fire on your clubs part and you'll be left with burnt fingers.
Cant understand why you want anything to do with the "kick and clap" brigade.
Union is just like league apart from, passing, scoring tries, deft ball skills etc oh, they only play for about 40mins in every 80, so Sam might have time for both.

ambition to better our own club by whatever means are necessary rather than sitting back and letting other clubs do it for us. has Sam playing for the baa baa's suddently stopped RL from existing? no, it hasnt...

furthermore, the REAL threat to RL is the clubs that are happy to stay where they are rather than try and improve themselves, and therefore the competition as a whole in order to make it more attractive to players and help to retain the players clubs like Wigan and Saints develop

the threat to RL isnt RU or the NRL, its the lower clubs in SL

Please explain (in simple terms) how Sam playing for the Barbarians shows ambition in anything, other than playing RU.

How about you find all the stories in the media this past week relating to Wigan and Wakefield or even any other team in SL and see which has had the most coverage.

Plenty of people such as myself see no benefit in Sam playing in that match and nothing you have posted over the last 60 odd pages convinces me this was part of Wigan's ambition to do anything.

You utterly miss the point. I dont care about Wigan or Sam Tomkins, only the game of RL.
If you think all of this shows ambition, please tell me why and take your head from the dark place that you like to keep it and realise that you have been abused by the RFU.
Although there has been a monetary gain, some things are more important and in the context of this forum, Rugby League should be at the top of everyones agenda.
Not 1 club, 1 person but the good of the sport.

i actually agree with part of your post, RL is the most important aspect of this and, so far, not one thing has been done to damage our sport (if it has, please feel free to provide your proof).

maybe you should look towards what your own club is doing (or, more to the point, not doing) for RL to realise where the true problems lie in our sport. if you arent moving forwards, your going backwards and its clubs like Wakefield that are doing considerable damage to RL in this country and holding the more 'ambitious' clubs like Wigan back

and yes Dave, this is a cop out as its home time and i have a life outside of work/rugby league to get to
