Rumours of IL penny-pinching. It's none of my business, but you have to wonder if the recent financial downturn has affected IL in any way

Sorry, I think 'revolt' was the wrong word to use.
What I meant was he was apparently the person he spoke up the most within the camp after the Huddersfield game.
Whether that was in a positive or negative way is something I couldn't answer.

If he's lost the dressing room then he has to go. Simple as that.
On a seperate note - when people were mentioning the player revolt in the Dorahey era. Do you think the home defeat to Widnes that spelt the end for Raper was something similar? I know from a good source at the time that the players wanted him out.

| I think he took the line, it's the players who provided that cr@p it's up to the players to put it right.
I saw Fekas reaction (West is best eh Alex) and he certainly wasn't pleased, but to me that was a positive reaction in that he is getting to he fitness levels many on here have been asking for.

I agree it seemed a stupid time to make it and a waste of a substitution.
Did anyone notice Warrington did exactly the same thing last night?

I think that was the same day that Whelan walked across the pitch as the players were warming up and started pointing the finger at the players basically telling them that they were playing for their future.
I might be wrong, but I'm sure that Raper was due to leave the club at the end of that season anyway and the club and Raper ''mutually'' agreed for him to leave.
I know he was fuming after the Whelan incedent and I was lead to believe that it was his decision more than anything.

Just found this:
www.independent.co.uk/sport/gene ... 88823.html
Quote The same could be said of events at Wigan last week. The writing was on the wall for Stuart Raper as soon as the club's owner, Dave Whelan, came on to the field to deliver the pre-match talk for him and, sure enough, Raper announced that he was leaving at the end of the season.
Defeat by Widnes, however, was enough to change that timescale, and Raper was told that he was leaving with immediate effect. That gives an opportunity to his No 2, Mike Gregory, who has been put in charge, along with Denis Betts, until the end of the season - or until someone changes their mind.

I doubt he will walk on the pitch prior to a Warriors game in the near future or ever.
If he had the balls to do it could you imagine the reception he would receive.
There would be a full house if we got prior warning

Maybe because the fat knacker has never managed more than 20 mins in a spell in the past 3 years before having to come off, so why should one Friday night in February 2009 be any different?
Instead of ranting, maybe he should aspire to get to the level that Jamie Peacock manages (ie quite often a full 80 mins on the pitch). Even if he manages 70% of a game it would take the burden away from the others a bit.

I've heard a few rumours that Noble has lost the dressing room and there have been many verbal arguments on the training pitch and in the changing room. Also, Phil Vievers comments in regards to lads ''playing as individuals'' was intresting.'"
Good topic Alex.
I noticed also that Feka was more than keen to stay on the field. And he was one of the players that was changing the game.
Nobles tactics with Feka are all wrong, he uses him on a timer no matter how well he is playing.
If we have a fit Feka, we need him on the field.

You miss the problem.
Noble plays Feka on a stop watch, any coach in the world at any level would leave a player out there who is ripping it up.
Why sub a player that is playing well?

| No, I really don't miss the point, I am fully in agreement, nobles substitutions are done by the clock and if Feka is doing fine leave him on! I was merely pointing out That Martinbuckley expects a player like Feka to do 80 mins like a player like peacock often does!

Maybe not 80 mins but i am sure you could get an extra 10 min out of him with some serious fitness work.Remember big paul anderson at bradford ,he was about the same weight as feka and played the same minutes of a game.Saints signed him and once apollo had worked on him in the off season he went from 30 min a game to close on 50 min without him losing any of his explosive power. Its no coincidence that the 2 top teams in leeds and saints are probably the 2 fittest teams in superleague. And fitness costs nothing.

| Didn't see Feka's reaction but as I said on another thread, I couldn't see the logic in taking off the big man 4 minutes before half time when he'd obiously have a break at the interval anyway.
I think we should be having him on the field for at least 45-50 minutes, unfortunately Noble seems to persist in only playing him for half an hour total.
