| The shop at what used to be Central Park should be closed immediately. It's doing no good for the club, its image or its ability to sell merchandise.
If they're going to open a new one to replace it, they should only do so when they've had a damn good think about where it's going to go, what they're going to sell and how customers are going to be treated. This is a modern sport and fans are more fickle than they've ever been. There is no place for outdated shops with bad staff.
So, where does it go? Robin Park is my answer. The Powerhouse unit has been empty for a couple of years, there is free parking, and it's next to the ground, and sufficiently close to JJB Sports, which gives us an ideal 'two fingers' up to both JJB and Latics fans.

£80,000?????????
I can't see the club being able to afford that. Not on the tat they currently peddle, anyway.
£375pw (£19,500pa) would get you the brand new shop under the Grand Arcade, opposite the Cheshire Building Society. Not as visible, but do you need that with a club shop? In any case, there's no parking with it, and I can't see anyone paying £2 a go just to visit the club shop. I wouldn't.

i think a lot of folk are forgatting that the shop doubles up as the club Lotto office.
the office is a nice comfy place full of memorobilia .
would agents feel comfortable paying in in the town centre???
some of these agents are elderly and carry hundreds of pounds to the shop....maybe they would feel vulnerable in a crowd.
if we are having a club shop, then lets still keep the lottery office where it is.
im pretty sure the club own the building outright, so extra rent wouldnt come into the equation.

We have something like a 1000 year lease on the Lotto Shop, so no problems there.

the car window kits truly are a disgrace. Who proofs them? It seems they just unpacked them and merchandised them straight out the box for display. I wouldn't sell them, send back as faulty to save embarrasement like that picture shows.
Still, might be 'rare' one day on eBay

Given the current performances, there'd be room a plenty if they used the old wooden Programme Hut from Central Park to sell mis-spelt name tat in.
They could also get rid of a couple of the "pleasant" staff as theres hardly likely to be a steady stream of people making purchases.

All we ask for is some professionalism get things like this sorted and get it right first time ffs.
It’s not to much to ask to be seemed to be professionally run?

To be fair, the ignorant staff were there before the current chairmens time. Tell you what, lets ignore all commercial merits and keep the old lotto agents happy instead.
That's crazy.
Why can't the lotto be run from the JJB in one of their undoubtedly very secure offices? Or even if it does move to the 'new' club shop, what's to stop the lotto agents going there? it makes zero difference.
And if the club own the existing shop, great. They can make £150k by selling it. Or £10k a year by renting it to me.

They appointed a new Head of Retail over a month ago, ( the Guy from Burnley FC ) you would have thought sorting out the staff in the shop and the standards would have been a priority, obviously not!!

Your right they were there before so it’s not all Mick Hogan and IL fault. You would have thought tho after the mess up with the shirts this would have been a seamless event that had been prepared for and planned. I just don’t get that feeling for some reason. The merchandise error can only be described as pitiful. It’s the club shop FFS and they have players names spelt wrong. It may not have been their fault but they shouldn’t have been out on the shelves and I’m sure someone like Mick Hogan will agree with that.
Have we not just employed a new store manager who ran Burnley Football's club shop btw? This was his first major test as a manager and he doesn't seem to have passed with flying colours. Even if he’s not a fan he should know the players names as it’s his job and professionalism means he has to know these things same goes with any job you learn the products when you start.
Believe it or not i don't like being this negative with the club but we all have such high expectations when it comes to this club whether that be in the players we have, the coaches or the girls in the shop we always expect the best possible result. It shouldn't be any other way should it?
