I would rather get rid of Bailey and bring in Puletua on his wage, I think it would cover it and if not send a young player on loan.

Puletua is on a 3 year deal with Saints and is not available.
Bailey is here and Croker is available.

I'd take Sam Moa any day of the week.

We'd be a laughing stock if we signed him because he's about 79 years old.

I think he means his brother Frank Puletua who's a prop/second row aswell and is off contract at Penrith.

He's improved as the seasons gone on and his fitness has got better but he'd still be a risk. I'd possibly be interested if it were a 1 year contract and he wasn't asking too much.

I've got mixed feelings about Moa, on the one hand I feel he could do a good job for us adding much needed grunt and go forward to are pack, yet on the other hand he could be another liability in deference ala Feka, it's a tough one to call but I'd certainly take him if it were a choice between him or no one.

I'm seen him play a few times this season and he's done ok imo.

At the end of the day we desperately need another prop and seeing there are very few viable alternatives out there we should be looking at him.

I'd looked at his stats on the superleague site and they tell the story of a bloke thats not played many minutes or games but has done a decent job whilst on the pitch.

If Wigan thought they could get him fitter and keep improving him as a player he'd probably be worth a risk but alot of things would have to be in our favour.

Sam Moa is a player who i initially thought was a joke, some of his early season form was shocking but as the season has gone on he really has looked to be half decent I would happily have him at Wigan for a 1 year deal.

I'd take Moa and see if Hull would take O'Carroll on loan perhaps, they're looking a bit light for props next year atm IIRC

We have Dowes,Cussack,O'Meley, looks like King will be paid off and Moa prob will be leaving, if thats the case Radford,Lauaki or even Fitzgibbon could be used upfront.

Thsi guy is bloody nuts, could be great if he can keep his head next season and not go looking to be-head half the opposition

As more clubs recruitment ticks by, there is no way that we are spending the full cap.

So what if were not spending the whole cap? If the right persons not available then i dont want us to sign some poor mans feka like sam moa and end up missing out on real quality in 2011. As long as we get a new coach im happy with what we have to go with next year. We are looking very good long term and thats all that matters, even if we re-signed trent barrett and got 2 of the best props in the world we probably wouldnt win something next year, people need to learn to be patient.

Randoms like Hull KR, Hudds etc will never win anything because they always feel like they HAVE to sign new players every season. Teams like Saints and Leeds, sign people to either replace older players, or to strengthen a particular area. The randoms of SL just replace like with like, crap for crap.

Lenagan thought he's matched the offer when he put $2 on the table over 4 years after not seeing the 'M' on the end of the Parra offer.

Leeds have signed Delaney to replace Smith and Eastwood to replace Ellis. Thereby strenthening certain areas. St Helens have replaced the ageing gilmour with the spritely Soliola and have also signed Fozzard on a 1 year deal as a stop gap for the nailed on signing of Luke Bailey at the end of 2010 (hes already told Saints he signing them).

All the other randoms in SL just have a merry go round of playing staff that dont really improve their team with the exception of Hull FC who, for once, have recruited well.

If we are [isignificantly[/i under it i.e. under it by enough so that a wage for a top class player could be offered but we are not going to spend that amount of money because the club is making a loss, then this is where the "rich chairman" comes in.

If this is the situation we are in then IL is presumably attempting to get the club in profit eventually but in the meantime he needs to speculate to accumulate IMO.

Subsidizing the wage of a top class player while he works towards profitability for the club are not incompatible things to be doing.

IMO if he does not do this he will find it a harder and slower process to get the club profitable.
