Agree on both fronts.
That spell on the sidelines for both him and Byrne was justified given how both have played since.
Shorrocks went well and created an extra link.
Very good coaching.

| Well played Wigan. The performance showed how far Salford have come after their effort last week. The Devils have to aim much higher now.

| Was going to the game a bit fearful tonight but you could see early the attitude was excellent. Some really pleasing performances right across the board.
A shame to lose Field but hopefully they’ve limited any damage. It certainly didn’t look like his one against Leigh in 2021 but you never know with these things. As for next week just give Astley the shirt. Names are made on Good Friday and it should be a great opportunity for the lad.

| Well can only be pleased with that result, despite going behind early on.
I didn't think Leigh troubled us much unless it was on the back of a penalty, we handled them with ease when they were coming away from their line.
Team effort tonight which is a confidence booster for Good Friday, pity we are going to be missing Field as on a dry day he could have been devastating. Let's hope it's not long term though.
Saw a nice bit of class tonight, our final try tonight in the corner and a couple of Wigan fans ran on to the pitch to congratulate. The stewards were a little heavy handed with a young Wigan fan and Isa instantly put his arms around the young lad to protect him at the same time gesture to the steward to go lightly on him. I thought that really good of him, things like this make you realise how much of a nice guy he is.

| I'm sure Matty Peet will find fault but I can't, the forwards stepped up and made the backs jobs so much easier, Havard was an absolute beast, Smith controlled everything and a big shout out to King and Miski, well deserved tries and their carries from defence were excellent.
Just a shame about Field but it's a long old season, let's make sure he's spot on before bringing him back.

Havard stepped it up massively tonight. Keep wanting to see a bit more intent and aggression in his carries and tackles and I think we saw that. If he can add that to his game consistently, he can be anything in the game.

I’m not sure what the lad wearing 24 for Leigh did to upset Havard but he got it tonight.
Poor lad looked broken after every tackle attempt on him.

Top talent and unbelievable potential and it’s just now about taking them next steps. He needs to push hard and strive to be playing more and more minutes.

Don't be a pr!ck all your life pal. If you think that was a good team tonight, then there's something seriously wrong with the that standards of what you want from a Wigan side. I enjoyed the performance and the win, but I've been pretty clear in regards to what levels I want Wigan to reach. You obviously don't want that and that's fine
Ask yourself honestly and without the happy clapping BS. Would you have fancied us if, Vs Saints if that team was named on GF? If the answer is no, then it isn't a good team. It's respectable with injuries factored. That's it.
I'll happily admit, I got the following wrong tho:
1. I bought into the Leigh hype and the myth about this being a tough game. I thought we'd need our best guys out there to win. Luckily enough I'd forgotten how bad & clueless a Lam coached side can be.
2. I thought our lack of pace on the wings would hurt us. Even you with your king PJ's on, you can't tell me that he's rapid. Well you probably will, but that's a different story. Likewise with Miski I was worried that Charnley (who was in good form) would fancy his chances.

I think he’s probably close to being in the condition he needs to be able to play his role effectively. Carried the ball extremely well and deserve me a try for his efforts.

This emphasises that clueless you are. Will respond tomorrow.
Enjoying the win tonight.
Goodnight.
PS..you keep saying you “buy into hype” maybe don’t. It’s not working out too well for you on todays display and your thought on Atoni as our next prop target.

| Can only agree with much of the above comments; French was terrific (remember when people said, he couldn't pass? ) , King was solid (and his lack of pace wasn't really exposed), Miski did just fine, and we looked much better in defence, and carried a constant threat in attack. If only Smith brought his goal-kicking boots, otherwise he was very good. Obviously, Jai is a big loss.

King and Miski were a lot more than solid and just fine.
Even without injuries Miski would deserve a start next week.
We started our sets on the front foot off every kick because of the meters and quick play the balls both generated.

Pleased for Miski - he's a very solid winger and whilst he clearly doesn't have the pace of French/Marshall, he will bring a physical presence over the next few weeks that the others don't have.

French is wasted on the wing in my opinion. Miski and Marshall need to play when we have a fully fit squad.
Both will get us on the front foot due to their ability in contact to either make yards or find their front and get a quick play the ball.
French doesn’t do that when he is on the wing, he tends to get dominated and closed down and lacks the physicality in the return carry on the edge, but the extra space he gets at 1 where he can use his footwork and pace against middle chasers is next level.

Agree, both Miski and Kings yardages carries are miles better than French’s. Marshall does well for a smaller player but can sometimes get dominated.
In what’s likely to be a war next week having them too big lads carrying the ball will help. Just probably don’t trust them to covert half chances like Marshall and French would.

If he could be a solid 75-80% every week, he'd be great.'"

Havard was superb again, Byrne is getting better with match fitness and Ellis had his best game in a while. Cooper seems way off the pace, this is a guy who used to play big minutes. Has Father Time caught up with him or is he carrying an injury?

| I'd settle with keeping Bevan fit, wherever he plays. But obviously at full-back for now, if not permanently. And considering he was the top try-scorer, by a distance, last season, when he was 'wasted' on the wing, I'll take him wherever I find him.

The problem is that Field and French are both box office but both are also suited to playing full back and consequently we have a conundrum. Ideally, it would be better if one of our marquee players was a half back.

| Have to echo the thoughts regarding King. He was brilliant last night. As soon as he got his first touch of the ball you could see he was brimming with confidence. That's the Toby King everybody wanted in their side 3 years ago. If Peet can coax that out of him consistently we have to be trying to strike a deal with Warrington. Wardle isn't hitting the straps yet but you can see it's there. I've got no problem playing the waiting game with him. And for the love of god let Brad O'Neill play next week.

| Great result and a dominant performance. Some good luck at key times but you had the match-winners to take advantage of it when it came along.
Thought Havard was sensational. It is a shame that Peet appears to have worked out that Cust and Singleton are so poor as I used to ejoy seeing them named in the side. Though Brad O'Neill showed some really good signs too.
Shame for Field - you want all the stars on the pitch for games like Good Friday but can only be good news for Saints that he is out.
