| Why would Sean Edwards return to rugby league. The money he earns in Union is vastly more than he could expect from a parochial sport played out along the M 62 corridor. Plus he lives in one of the worlds greatest cities. I see someone mentioned Owen Farrell signing for Wigan, his earnings in union are in excess of three quarters of a million pounds per annum. Obviously Wigan can’t compete with that. Nor would Wigan be able to afford his father.

| I’m gonna stick my neck out here and say Paul Rowley.. he’s very under rated in my opinion and I love his style of play.. he plays an unpredictable attack and his forwards have always been aggressive.. he built the Leigh team that got promoted, parky pig could off took over and they still would of got there super league place.. possible back to back promotions with Toronto, yeah they’ve got a unfair advantage but he’s not had quality players as he? Plus he doesn’t take know crap.. any messing about and your out!!

Forums are all about opinions and I never usually jump down someone’s throat but no, 100% no. His style of rugby is absolutely abysmal, it was at Leigh and it is at Toronto. The Wire v Toronto game was the clearest example of a Rowley team you will ever see. And people moan about the way Wane wants the game played!!

Why would he return to league? Because he has ambition and probably already has more money than he could spend. Not that I expect a born winner like Edwards is particularly motivated by money.
London one of the world's great cities? Where in London does he live, the part where they're all stabbing each other?
You have obviously not read the recent interview with Edwards

Just look at what he’s done at both Leigh and Toronto though? He’s a class coach. The wire vs Toronto game was dire I agree BUT was that down to Rowley as to why there was so many yellow cards, plus the red for punching? The players he’s got aren’t the best probably on/off the field he’s got a team full of loose cannons but he’s got to scrap at the bottom of the barrel really?
Back to the style of play I’ve got to disagree on that one! When they beat Salford back in 2015 the style of play was CLASS. The aggression in the forwards to bully Salford off the ball and then the you’ve got the flair and freedom they had when moving the ball around, it’s unpredictable and sometime dangerous but how many break away tries did they make that year? Quite a lot! And then you go on to the Warrington game in which they lost’ same again the style of play could of won them that game and you could possibly say if they was a little fitter they would of gone on a and won it!
There’s pro and there’s cons to Rowley as there is with any coach but I don’t think for one second it’d be a bad choice! He’d have a far better management team around him, money to attract better and bigger stars and the chance of a real crack in super league!
Being a coach myself I understand the fine details that maybe other fans don’t see and he does it right to a tee!

| Deacon is a pretty uninspired choice for me tbh
I want a little razzzamataz
Edwards or some top name Ocker.
I’m gutted Waney is going but I’m gagging for some exiting news.

| Furner, Barrett or Lam would be my pick of an Antipodean coach, someone who understands how passionate the town & fans are about the team.
Surprised that Chester has higher odds than Betts though.

I am probably in this camp but wary that razzamataz by the wrong coach could be a pretty disastrous route.
IL got it right with Maguire and hopefully there is another aspiring young coach over in the NRL who wants to cut his teeth with what is still one the top 1 or 2 clubs in our competition. This would be my preferred choice if SE declines the role. 2010 is probably one of my favourite years watching Wigan and a repeat of that energy and purpose would suit me fine.
Winder I believe does a lot of the coaching presently so I wouldn't be overly surprised that if SE cant be tempted back then IL may well consider Winder supported by a senior NRL coach seeing out the end of his career in SL to enable Winder to step up in a year or so then bring in SOL as his assistant coach.
Interesting times.

Demetriou would be a good call, highly regarded in Queensland and serving under a top coach at the Bronocs. Maybe next in line when Bennett goes, if thats not planned for a few years then some SL experience with a top club could be tempting
