| Ive never been to Hull for an RL game and never would.
Not heard anything good about the place.
Sorry to the genuine nice fans but what Ive heard of Hull is not great.
Shame because the stadium looks great.

| This sickens me, the mentality of these people is beyond sub human IMO, given what happened last year i suppose the police didn't think to do anything about it to try to avoid the same thing, likely in the same area as well no doubt.
A simple route change that wouldn't have cost no more than 3-5 minutes would likely have avoided this or even having some form of visual presence along the known route.
If that's what it needs, then that's what it needs and our club should pay for the extra policing AFTER the match so that fans can feel safe to visit the KC.
And has been seen this season & every other season fans of all clubs (barring London & Catalans?) getting involved in skirmishes on the terraces & outside of the stadia as well.
I love coming back to Hull for games & visiting the folks and I've never experienced any touble, however this is one of the reasons I couldn't wait to get away from Hull in the late 80s, the thing is though that this type of thing is happening everywhere not far from you wherever you live so people coming the high & mighty really need to start looking on their own doorstep as well.
I just happen to be lucky that I live somewhere where it doesn't happen that often comparatively

Yes everyone was ok thanks Laura just a cracked windscreen. Unfortunately these kids are a product of today's society & it's not helped by having a poor outfit in humberside police. Hope everyone got home safely.
I will be writing to our club & police chief constable ( for what good it will do) to at least try to get something done to stop this.

| Quote ="WigansForeignLegion"Whilst many will hope Hutchie, that it wasn't Hull FC fans, the sad reality is that some 'residents' of Hull have done this and it makes the idea of a return trip distasteful.

100% agree, whether who ever done this is a FC or not, could you blame away fans for not turning up when scum bags do this? And either way the scummers who did this where from Hull.

| Does it make any difference if the person throwing the brick is a Hull FC fan or just a local that hates anyone from outside Hull?
If it's a Hull FC fan doing the bricking then I suppose its a bad thing for RL, but if you are a victim of that kind of attack then its probably a small issue as to whether they are Hull fans or not!

| I went to uni in Hull and loved every minute of my 4 years there. I still have some good mates there. Such a shame that a few idiots are putting people off going, the stadium is a fantastic venue and the majority of people are friendly. I went in to a few pubs with my Wigan shirt on after games and received nothing but a bit of banter.

| Anyone know where the coaches got done?
It surely can't be that difficult to police the route from the stadium to the A63? It's only round the bloody corner! If the coaches are taking an alternative route, I'd question whether this is a wise idea. I'm pretty sure if the Rhinos for example played in a less studenty area, we'd be hearing similar tales more often.
If you drive past the estates, you've got a good chance of crossing paths with the mindless youth of today. This isn't Hull FC's fault. It's the city's and an unfortunate sign of the times. The riots last summer tells its own story in how mindless the majority of the youth of today are (very surprised nothing happened in Hull!).

Thanks for the comments. People who have actually spent a bit of time in the City actually realise its not that bad of a place, although incidents like this do portray the city in a bad light.
I think there are chav's in every city, i had rocks thrown at me in Leeds and was started upon at Saints - wouldnt call them fans of either side, didnt have colours on - just alcohol fuelled, aggrssive kids who thought they would look hard in front of their mates. Doesnt dictate my opinion about fans of RL teams who are a completely different animal to football fans

| This thread is named "Hull FC"
in regards to that i have been to watch Wigan over there a few times over the years and never seen anything untoward or had any kind of comment in my ear whatsoever, ive sat in the Brickmakers for up to 3 hours before the game, ive also shared a train with hoardes of Hull fans from Newport to Cardiff, walked to/from the ground with crowds of them in Edinburgh, shared drinks with their fans in the red robin, walked from Wigan town centre to the DW in their company and weve never encountered anything to pee me off... buses getting bricked will be of course blamed on the club, an easy knee jerk thing to do.
This is obviously done by chavs as stated before that id bet werent even at the game, Hull fans will tell you that the city has a problem with little fuockwits more so than most places, 'theyre not Wire' where the adults behave like that... to blame Hull FC for it is pretty much wrong.
oh and the ticket prices were a disgrace, i blame Hull FC for that

| It was a Kenmore coach, one of Storming Normans. It was the back window that was bricked in luckily no one was hurt.
The coach was full of elderly Wigan supporters, myself included.
It happened just before the island that takes you on to the motorway.
The police took almost half an hour to attend & didn't seemed particularly bothered about the incident!!
It's a shame that the Hull supporters get the blame when it is mindless thugs with probably nothing to do with the game of RL at all.
This is the first time I have been involved in an incident of this kind in all my visits to Hull whether FC or KR, & I have been going over 30 years, whether by car or coach.
We all have idiots in every team so lets not tar all genuine supporters from any team with the same brush as we brand these mindless imbeciles.

| Hull FC are to blame as a coach carrying Rugby fans was bricked had the game not taken place the coach wouldnt have got bricked, they wouyldnt brick a coach carring daytrippers to the city/port,this isnt a problem with society its the city of Hull/Leeds the two blackspots where Wigan coaches have come under fire with objects thrown at the windows of coaches. Why didnt the coach driver take a differant route from the Stadium,I went yesterday and parked on the main car park had no bother walking back my car.

| Just an aside, but it makes my blood boil when people talk about the "youth of today". There has always been gangs of poor, working class young people causing trouble whether it be 2012, 1912 or 1812. Some people should get their noses out of the Daily Mail.
I don't condone the events of yesterday afternoon one iota and I think the culprets should be strung up by their genetalia, but to dismiss this as a modern phenomenon is pure media-driven fallacy.
Rant over.

how can the club be to blame? once the coach leaves the stadium it isn't hull fcs' responsibility, unless you want them to give you an escort out of the city!

99% of any decent human being would like to see these utter turds caught and given a good seeing too.

| Went in the car, parked on the main car park, no problems before or after, £23 a bit steep but didn't get a programme or food and drink took our own, compared to Leeds , Wakefield, is it £20 , facilities far better.
With previous problems with coaches do the local police have a part to play to give safe travel back to the A63 for supporters coaches ?

| Not Hull FC's fault in my view. It's clearly chav yobs who are intent on causing trouble and almost certainly won't have been to the game. The Wigan club needs to talk to Hull management before this game and ask for police protection for our coaches until they have passed the island and the Humber Bridge.
