| The only way we will get anywere near the Aussies is if we appoint a young Australian coach. Nota chance with a plank like Mcnamara.

I agree, but I just don't see it happening. Hiring McNoHope showed there is no forward thinking or aspirations, I can't fathom why he was given the job after failing miserably at Bradford.

| Bridge's position is centre, he has moved to 13 before as a trial to get him more involved. He's playing 6 for us while Briers was out. He will be back at right centre which i think is his best position.

| The elite squad is based on a players history rather than how good they are now. Inclusion of Peacock and Crabtree or even Prescott shows how much SL games Mcnamara watches. Mossop is far better now then the 3 above and will develop into a truly world class prop in the next year or two. Its obvious that Englamd will again go with a damage limitation side in an International competition. That squad will not beat NZ or Australia not this year and the way hes missing out on giving young players a chance it will struggle for a very long time to come.
Englands props should be: Carvell, Mossop, Morley (If fit and playing well) Coley.
Can anyone tell me if his picking Peacock why the hell Coley is not in the squad. If Mcnamara was Wigan's coach there is no chance players like Charnley would get a game instead of Goulding. You pick your best players on this seasons performance not the previous 10 years some have been playing. Thats the weakness of almost all British Coaches they never take a risk whilst an Australian will. Noble was a safety first coach when Maguire and Tony Smith will give a player a chance to develop.
Or lets put it this way would we want Mcnamara coaching Wigan.

Christ on a bike, its alright to criticise Mcnamara but to then suggest playing Andy Coley in front of James Graham does kind of erode your moral high-ground.

I think tank was talking about Peacock but forgot to put Graham in the list. I agree Graham is the top prop. But Mossop has a lot of potential (and a very good player already) and England should be building around Graham and Mossop as England's long term first choice props.

Clucking Bell yes total screw up sorry.
Problem is if Mcnamara sees Peacock even in the top 6 props this season then hes screwing up more than me.

| This squad system is ok and will get the players into a representative environment, but to omit players who are currently at the top of their form is a poor decision. In my opinion this business of building for the future is utter rubbish, you should pick the form players to win the next match, whatever thier ages, if they are in form at the end of the season they should be in the side.

I have to agree that Mossop has earned a spot in the squad (maybe not the team but certainly the squad) and to leave him out in preference to Peacock and Crabtree on form is baffling.
However in relation to Leon Pryce then I think that's a different story.
www.superleague.co.uk/statistics ... eason=2011
A quick look at his stats in comparison to Lee Briers (who we all know is SL's number 1 stand-off but unfortunately unavailable for England selection) show that they stack up very favourably in that he has conceded considerably less penalties, has been near faultless in making 1 error and has the cast-iron strong defence of zero missed tackles that will be required to defeat the Aussies. There is no arguing with the selective use of stats.

Charnley has been picked on the wing as he has speed to burn and is a big lad who does a lot of work plus - Cudjoe lacks confidence, Hall seems to be a plodder, Goulding isn't as good as Charnley, Fox has almost dissapeared from the player he was 2 years ago.
That would be my current team, it may change next week.

I saw him early in the season and he was going ok. Then he was out for months and then almost came back for half a game then was out injured the rest of last season and all of this season up to now! He also missed a load of the season before!

He was brilliant, not just going ok. He seemed to relish being without Longy and took to being the boss man in the halves very well. We saw his impact almost as soon as he came on the pitch on Friday night. Everyone settled down and the whole team looked organised and determined. If he can maintain his fitness and find the form he had prior to being injured, I am very much looking forward to the remainder of our season!

Any team without Widdop is nonsensical, unless you have forgotten him.

| Ryan Hall is the second best English winger we have (Briscoe just ahead). Unfortunately, he looks completely average every time he pulls on an International jersey.

Where did I say he wasn't?
Seriously though, McIlorum in the England team when Roby is playing 80 minutes at hooker? Just why?
MM isn't even the second best english hooker anyway. It makes no sense and is just club bias to a ludicrous degree.

But Roby won't play the full eighty for England, and replacing him with Robinson is replacing like for like in style of play.
McIlorum showed in the Grand Final what he capable of and the same in the game at Widnes. He can hurt in defence and is no slouch with the ball.

Come on Rogues, there's no way he should be in a first choice England 17. No way.
