It just annoys me that certain fans cannot see the rare talent he posseses. A great ball handler and organiser and I think providing he can get over the latest setback keep his feet on the ground he could be a superb acquisition for whoever signs him up.

Smith's clearly not the player we can build at team around but we desperately need someone with his range of skills and creativity to compliment the squad. Last night was an example of where we just didn't look like scoring, our forwards were outplayed but still managed to get us decent field positions. When we did get there we didn't look like we had that spark to execute properly. I think Smith brings that to the squad.

Hope things are OK for him in Aus.
I think he'll return for the rest of the season.
How long he'll be away for I don't know and doubt anyone else does.
For his own reputaion in Aus I feel he has to complete the season with us.

Tim Smith is a very talented player and this squad needs his talent.

I don't really get what your problem is, but at the time it was clear he had gone home due to MR's FB status but we didn't know why and I didn't think it was right speculating on specific family members and reasons etc. hence why I asked for nobody to discuss the reasons why he has flown home.

Our game needs players like Smtth. The skill levels are as low as they have ever been. It doesnt matter if he is not a runner he gets the team round the park like a half back should. His passing is not just good its exceptional - possibly the best in Super league at the moment.

His defence has improved lately and you look at other half backs round the world very few of them are good defensively. Long, Briers, Dobson, Lockyer ALL cannot defend so to use this as a reason as Smith "not being good enough" is short sighted as most other clubs have similar problems with their halve backs.

Youre right AJ, Whats your problem Morning glory?? the thread is called "Tim Smith gone home?" and Alex pointed out that MR's facebook message said "hope you had a good flight", That pretty much confirms he has gone home but it was others who started speculating as to why!!!

No argument, just found it amusing that the thread was started on the basis of a rumour and when people started to speculate as to the reasons why he had gone home - still speculation at that point - the thread starter thrn asks for the speculation to stop. The same speculation that was invited by starting a rumour thread in the 1st place.

No, the speculation as to why he went home at first was purely rugby speculation! i.e Had he had enough and gone and signed for another club.

Then when it started to emerge that it was for family reasons, the mod RIGHTLY stopped speculation.
