I have no idea what was said by who, but Sam Moa was fuming and offering the fan out, swearing and saying he would rip his f**king head off. He was trying to get out of the dug outs to get to the fan. The guy was sat quite a few rows back from the dug out, a few who were sat nearby were having a go at Sam Moa for kicking off the way he was, I don't think many heard what was said in the first place to trigger it, he was pretty bad, but understandably so if someone was racially abusing him. A few people sat round were saying they'd heard something racist but didn't tell the stewards what was actually said and nobody appeared to be thrown out. It was just after Leuaki came off after being knocked out.

I was in the East and haven't seen the Sky pictures but, if true, I hope the culprit(s) are banned and apologies to Sam and the Hull fans on behalf of all genuine Wigan fans.

If true, a lifetime ban, and 5 minutes in the ring with Mr. Moa will be in order. No matter what your beliefs are, racial or otherwise, if they are to cause offence, keep them to yourself in public.

I hope this pillock has been identified and banned from attending any future matches. I hate racism, or any other form of bullying. I think they should have let Moa go at him.

Apologies to the Hull fans if this is true. I hope the bigoted scum responsible faces criminal charges. At the very least they should be banned from all RL grounds for life and I hope they are publicly named and shamed. Disgraceful

Doubt 5 minutes would be necessary, but sounds fair to me.

It shouldn't be happening at all in these times and, although it isn't indicative of the vast majority of the fanbase, it makes the club look bad (just like how the few kids in Hull that have thrown stuff at buses on more than one occasion tarnish the entire club).

Sam Moa wasn't happy. Jordan Turner had to escort him away in an attempt to defuse the situation.

I'm glad Moa didn't get hold of this prick, but only because he would have been screwed by the RFL; not because I don't think this deserves a beating...

I'm very interested to see how this situation is handled by the clubs and the RFL.

TBH i'm not even sure some of them heard what was actually said in the first place as they were on the row behind me and I didn't hear anything, and they were going ballistic at Moa and the stewards saying Moa should be kicked out because he was kicking off.

Those attitudes should be left at home, amazes me really when our best players have been black.

Some pricks near us were smoking though with a new born baby sat behind them. Until my mum tow'd em what for!!

I have just watched the game back and at no point in time do Sky mention ' racist ' abuse.

Bill Arthur mentions some problem between Sam Moa and the crowd and that is all.

The OP needs to back his facts up before shouting racism.

I thought this, I saw this thread before I watched the game back and was expecting a big deal off the sky lot about this. If there has been racist abuse then it obviously needs punishing in a very strict manner, i.e. life time bans. But there has to be proof, did anyone actually hear what was said?

I sit a couple of rows behind the away dugout and didn't hear any racial abuse being thrown around. I was looking across to where lauaki was being led off and there was a lot of shouting for westerman to be sent off, as you would expect, so i wasn't really paying attention at what was going on around me. When i looked round i noticed Moa stood up in the dug out facing the fans, in particular one chap on the row behind me, and there were a few verbals going on between the two. Moa was extreemely angry and things escalated to the point where Moa was trying to get out of the dugout to confront the fan, shouting for him to come down there and he would f**k him over, etc etc. the fan was sort of half getting up but not actually going anywhere, which was quite funny in itself, all talk and no trousers. Anyway, one of the other players managed to lead him away down the tunnel and that was the end of that. I would stress that through all of the verbals i heard there was nothing racial in nature however i didn't hear or see what got Moa on his feet in the first place. I did ask a chap on the row in front what had kicked it all off and he said something along the lines of Moa taking offense to the shouting for westerman to be sent off and he was just being a soft . Most of the people around me seemed to be disgusted by the level of reaction and language that Moa was throwing around for no real reason and i am sure that this wouldn't have been the case if anyone had heard any racial abuse going on.

As usual everyone speculating what happened .. No one knows for sure. If any racist language was used then that person should be found and banned .. End of .. If not then Moa should be charged if he was just reacting to our fans wanting Westerman sent off.. We don't need either event in our sport

That was the exact way that I saw it, I sit right next to the away dug out, some girl who sits behind me who gives it to all the away players every game calling them scum etc was gobbing off a fair bit at Moa for his language and behaviour towards the fans, then shouting at one of the stewards for him to be kicked out as the steward approached her telling her to calm down. There were quite a few others who clearly objected to Moa's behaviour which was pretty appalling for a professional. All I heard were people calling for Westerman to be sent off. Infact, it was that girl who was screaming at stewards that said she'd heard something racist, then said she heard someone else say it was something racist... I started to doubt it was anything racist as as I said, nobody was ejected and no action was taken against anybody in the crowd. It was as all the fans were calling for the red card as Leuaki was leaving the pitch, and I'm certain that had anybody heard any racist remarks they would in no way have defended it.

That seems like the most logical explanation. If anyone was racist then it is disgusting and I hope they are dealt with appropriately. But it just doesn't add up does it?

Is it not just possible that after such a tackle on Eric people in the crowd where giving the hull team or westerman some verbals and maybe Moa has taken an exception and decided to stick up for his team mate? Why on earth anyone would randomly say something racist to a player not involved is beyond me and it's a shame people have automatically assumed it was racist when there's no proof otherwise and even people nearby haven't been able to confirm a racist remark.

Like I say, if it turns out something racist was said, then he needs banning for life at the very least, and naming and shaming but lets get some facts first before we go accusing people of such a disgusting thing.
