Team Sheet says Ambler at 8 for Leeds but played last night so don't think it was him.

The Leeds team sheet was just the team they picked to play last week. Totally incorrect I think but not seen an actual line up yet.

Karl Pryce hat trick stands out for me. Surely if this lad is to have any future at Wigan it isn't going to benefit him running in tries for fun in the reserves for the second season? A loan spell would surely do him so good.

No Feka in the reserves this week the other point. Also looks like people were right about the decline of the Leeds Reserves/Academy.

Re Pryce hat trick my grandad could have scored them tries they were that laid on a plate for him and he's been dead 50 years! Best quote of the afternoon from someone at the back of the stand when Pryce was picked up in a tackle was he's already asleep he dosn't need rocking. Priceless.

Well no-one else in the reserves seems to have the same try scoring rate in the Reserves that Pryce does and the ones that have got close recieve loads of praise. I concede I wasn't there and I'm not having a pop, but he's been one lucky player if the above is anything to go by.

Get off his back. His tries were from as far out as Gouldings last night. Unless we get Howarth away from the number 6 position we are going to struggle. Pryce didn't get 5 decent passes all game. I notice no-one is giving Thornley a hard time, I wonder why?

I'm not on his back I'm just stating todays tries were layed on a plate for him. Why should we have a go at Thornley he's only 18 whereas Pryce is nearly 24. I've been watching him since he was 16 how much more time does he need. He has the potential to be a great player but unfortunately he dosn't have the attitude.

Pryce should have been loaned out 12 months ago. Nothing against myself, I think he'll do a job if picked for 1st team on the wing or centre, but his career will go nowhere playing Under 20s all the time.

Were Gouldings tries laid on a plate for him last night? Of course they were. Were Goulding and Pryce in the right place to take those passes?Of course they were.
Seriously how many decent passes did Pryce or Thornley get today.
Did Pryce make any errors? Disd he force the opposition out of play? yes.

His only mistake IMO was when he came inside from deep in his own half and should have gone outside his winger.

If we use Pryce properly and give him running ball attacking the opposition line he will score a bagfull. He was top scorer last season in the reserves.

At some point this season his chance will come and it will be up to him if he takes it. If he falls over the line for a try by being there he only gets four points, if he scores from 30 metres out it still only counts for four.
Did Amos's 60 yarder v Warrington get more than Goudings two yarder last night?

If we did manage to loan him out it would be interesting to see where he went in terms of 'level'. Ainscough and Tuson have gone to clubs that aren't in direct competiton with us or able to harm our title ambitions and their experience will help their development. Which is fair enough and makes sense. Likewise with Davies, he's at a level that will develop him as a young player. Again that makes sense. Pryce however, I struggle with because I'm not actually sure what his 'level' is, other than at U20's knocking over kids with good potential. He looks ok there but surely that can't be it for him? Can it? Other wise surely a club would have come in and at least made a serious loan enquiry, but he's not gone anywhere. That's either because we won't let him go, but we'd have seen him figure in the 1st team by now if we wanted him that much, or because no-ones asked about him because they don't want him and can apparently see what our coaching staff see. Unfortunatley that is someone with loads of latent potential but seemingly not the attituide or bottle to break through to our 1st team, or anyones 1st team for that matter.

Exactly my point the only person who can't see what is seemingly obvious to others is Rogues.

We can't send him out on dual contract because of his age. IL has belief in him so maybe that's a reason for keeping him. At present he's in between a rock and a hard place. he needs games at top level. At some stage this season he will get them, and it's up to him how he goes.
If he falls over the line for four tries will he have been a success.

The reason I ask that is a lot of Ainscoughs tries last year came that way, and the consensus was that "he knows where the try line is".

I asked the question regarding their junior systems over a week ago.

Well. I can pick one difference without really having to think about it; that break he made down the left from our own line in the first half, where he was caught around halfway. Ainsy (or just about any other winger) would have gone all the way. With Pryce, he only scores the easy ones. Every Wigan player on the pitch was breaking tackles at will, except him.

Ainscough has NEVER scored a 70 yarder in all the time he was at Wigan.

Pryce should have gone on the outside, which is what I said earlier.

Oh and Josh Charnley is a better winger than either of them, something else I've been saying for over a year.
