| Quote ="Bilko"I'm sorry for the steward but I can only be amused by the second "incident" they are looking into to. I'm sorry but fans will always bang on the back of that stand when it's a derby because it's so packed. I went down the pee on the wall toilet after our first try and it was being well and truly bashed in. I'm amazed only 6 or 7 panels broke.'"
Well, you were the first fans I've heard do it.
I'm glad you find it funny. That's money Saints have to spend on repairs either directly or through resulting increased insurance premiums. It costs Saints enough just to keep the place standing.
It's not so good for the image of the sport when that kind of thing makes a national newspaper either IMO, even if it is just the Mirror's online rag.

| People always bang on the back of the stand at KR. Even the stains fans that stand in that end do it.
Was possibly done a little over zealously this time because of the occasion.

I'd like to know how you can speak for fans of other clubs, but there you go. All I know is that I've never heard it before.
I hope Saints claim compensation from Wigan given the increased costs the damage will bring.

We're the only fans who really pack the away end at Saints though. It was so packed last Friday, I couldn't even get under the roof at the back.

Totally wrong. Wire outdid you by a couple of thousand this season. They really [idid[/i pack it out. So much so, Saints fans crossing to the pop side had to go round the back of the Eddy End as it was too packed for people to walk through.
I can't remember when Wigan last packed out the Eddy End like Warrington did a few weeks back.

difference is saints sold their allocation for our game thus not allowing us to sell the same as wire, we brought as many as the shed allowed, remember it sold out 5 days before kick off.

No excuse. You could have bought tickets straight from Saints. A lot of Wire fans did that.
Wire behaved themselves as well.

Well, as Saints only gave us 5,000 tickets how could we sell any more. Wigan sold every ticket they were give plus a lot bought from Saints.
It would appear that more Saints fans wanted to watch Saints v Wigan than Saints v Wire
Wigan sold all their tickets by Monday before the game.
When Saints played Wire the last tickets were sold on the same day as the game
And the cry goes up "you're only here 'cause it's Wigan"
I think your crowd calculator needs new batteries.

Correct. I know loads of Wigan fans who were unable to purchase tickets due to the non availability.
Wire were given more allocation due to less Saints fans purchasing.
On Good Friday an extra 1000 casual Saints fans pre-purchased thus denying Wigan the chance to sell.

| It is getting very petty now, fans making out like the oppositin are violent hooligans. Now I'm not condoning violence but the smallest, most isolated incedent is brought up on rlfans and totally blown out of proportion and all the teams followers are labeled 'the scum of rugby league'.
I had a feeling that fans would be destroying bits of Knowsley Road on Friday, being the last derby, but there was less than I expected.

| Whether we care to admit it or not, you must face facts -
Every team in SL/Championship etc etc will have a section of tw*ts. Who are gloryhunters and who love to cause havoc at any game ie. Knowsley Rd, Adam Watene chants (which personally I found to be sickening).
Each club has a responsibility to round them up and kick them out. Question is, are clubs doing enough?

FJ, couldn't agree more.
The 2008 GF Leeds v Saints was disgraceful.
We (as a game) need to weed out these morons from our game.

LMAO! Are you serious?! Its corrugated iron and some nuts and bolts! Go down a scrapyard and you would find pieces of that stuff in better condition and fix it for a tenner! I think if Stains went to Wigan for compensation for that then they are daft.
I do hope, however, that the steward claims compensation against whoever hit him. But I'm not actually sure how this works coz if a fan was injured i'm sure they'd sue because "the stewards didnt police problem fans well enough" or something along those lines. I hope they find the idiot and have him banned for life and name and shame him in national papers. I wouldnt be surprised if these are all fans banned from football stadiums for Latic's hooliganism.
Does anyone know if a person who is banned from Football stadiums would also be banned from Rugby League stadiums? and whether the DW would count as a "Football" stadium when it is used for RL?
