I was going to say, no, surely Child is right. But I just read the rules, it seems slightly unclear (to me, anyway). The rules said defenders cannot advance "until the ball has cleared the ruck". They also say that the ball is "in play" when it has been played backwards by the foot.

Is "in play" the same thing as "clear of the ruck"? I don't know.

This is even worse than the Millward rugby we had to endure, never a statement I thought I'd have to make.

Saints haven’t got out of first gear, primarily because they haven’t needed to. They look like they’re doing an opposed training session with us. It’s embarrassing.

It magnifies the issues around the game as a whole with how bad we are at the moment but even putting the emotion of the losses to one side, the game is in such a poor state at the moment. Covid hasn’t helped but it’s just really highlighting the problems. The England fiasco last week really saddened me and sums up just how insular the clubs are. I love the game but feel so down on it right now.

And Child wasn't wrong about our 10 m incursions. So it seemed the yellow for KPP was on the advice of the VR? Very harsh, I thought. There was as more 'wrapping' in that tackle is there is many.

I started watching RL around 2000 - I'm not from a traditional RL area, but a few friends got me into it.

The standard of SL these days is an absolute joke. It's a shadow of the sport that I got into 20 years ago.

It is literally like kids vs. adults.

I wouldn’t be against more yellow cards here now. I’ve no clue what set of rules we are playing to.
