Agreed, as assistant fair play, as the head coach no thanks, big changes at Gloucester regards the coaching so he may very well be available, although as i understand it he is very well thought of as a coach there.

Dean Ryan has been sacked, Brian Redpath has taken charge so its a promotion from within, which will probably not harm Betts like a total new headcoach coming to the club might.

If IL goes to Aus looking at a player (i.e. Webb) then decides he isn't good enough, would you still want him to sign him just to show he is a) willing to splash the cash and b) to please fans?

No way, if Webb turns out to be a poor signing, IL will kick himself as he initially knew he isn't the right signing. It would then only be a matter of time before the fans (namely this place) would be on IL's back and Webbs.

If there's no one worth signing, don't sign anyone, wait, keep communications open and wait until someone who is worth the fee to become available then make the signing.
Unless we'll end up with 'lesser' players contracted to the club, the won't progress.

If IL doesn't make a single signing this summer, its because no one worth signing is available.

Would be happy with Betts as number 2, he remembers the glory days and if we want to get back the attitude and mental strength around the place we during are period of success than we need someone who was there and experienced it.

As for griffin, yeah a solid worker but we already have a enough of those, under different circumstances then maybe but not now, we should be doing are best to get N Cayless, his ability on the field and the effect he'll have with are junior players shouldn't be overlooked.

I think so.

For so many reasons it's a definite yes and if it is true the RL should be funding part of it as well but the three stand out reasons are;

-Class player
-Top level RU player
-Celebrity (the column inches for RL would be amazing)
