It's going to be VERY difficult I think.

However, everyone of us on Sunday Afternoon should think back and remind themselves of the dark days of 2006 and how such a game like Sunday seemed 'pie in the sky' (pardon the pun), smile and then go out there and enjoy ourselves regardless of the result...!!

I had the privilege of watching Wigan train on Wednesday and if they play with the precision and intensity as they did in training then they will do very well indeed !

If the conditions are bad then I can see them squeezing the life out of us, they constantly put good kicks in backed up by great defence and then make no mistakes in attack. If conditions are good then I would love us to have a go at them, lets see if they can handle our running outwide, test their defence. We need to come out like we did in the GF and get an early lead. I hope we choose to kick off to them so we can smash them from the start! I expect the physicality of the game to be double what we see in super league and the PTB will be rapid, even so I would expect the scoreline to stay pretty low and I think the whole game will be about forwards and defence, one or two plays from a cheeky half back could change the game.

I expect us to be in the game going into the last 10 mins, we have never been well beaten under Maguire and I don't expect this to be any different.

It's just a joy approaching the weekend feeling giddy with excitement at the prospect of playing the best team in the world in one of the game's biggest finals, instead of approaching it terrified because we might lose another two valuable points to fellow cellar-dwellers Wakefield.

I still haven't got over that terrible half-season under Millward.

Agree with Cruncher I looking forward to a memorable game of rugby. I am sure our lads will do us proud regardless of the result.

Two tough defensive teams makes me think that this will be a low-scoring game. I'd be surprised if the total points scored goes past 25-26, especially if it rains as has been forecast

IMO SGI will have to be a great side to beat us if we perform like we did in the Grand Final 2010.

The guys know how much this means to us all, the club, the town and British RL, them convicts can say what they like about how seriously they take the game... (they talk about us being whinning POMS... I haven't heard anything but whinning from them!!)

I really hope that Lockers has the game of his life and just shows what most of us know already.. He may not have the plaudits of his brother-in-law but to Wigan 2011 but IMO he's just as important. I hope we play to our strengths and can keep their centres quiet.

I'd call it a challenge of the highest order just ask many Wigan fans who went to the previous 3 world club victories just how big these games are.

To be classed "Champions" is fantastic, I've seen us manage it well over a dozen times.

To be classed "World Champions" is unbelievable, it's been great to have that feeling three times, a fourth on Sunday would be orgasmic.

I will state again,even other wigan posters have stated that this, whilst a great win in a great show piece would not make you the best team in the world. Any super league team would do well to finish mid table after a whole season in the NRL.

This is a fantastic show piece exhibition played at an intense level, but we take it far more serious than the aussies.

I really dont want this to sound belittling by the way, you were the best by a mile last year and you deserve this game but it isn't the defining moment of a club.

The Grand Final was the biggest game we've had in years. This is just a little bonus. It'd be nice to win, but I wouldn't exactly cry my heart out if we didn't.

Agreed, iv had many an arguement with Wigan fans in that I think personally this means a lot more to the town of Wigan than the grand final, we are on our pitch, in front of our fans, playing to be the greatest team in the world, it will be an unbelievable feeling if we win it.

If we let St George kick they will kick us to death and keep us in our own half for most of the game, we need to have the markers putting major pressure on the kickers plus we need our kicking game to be spot on, I want Deacon, McIllorum or Tomkins kicking because I can see it now, every one of Leuluais kicks going 30 yards down Boyds neck.

Its going to be very tight. Sam will be key for us imo, if he plays like he can i think we will take it. I just hope we arent overly pumped up and do anything stupid early on as we cant afford to get behind early and be chasing the game.

After watching quiet a few nrl games with the dragons in last year they can be beat. They have threats all over the park but they do the basics very well there forwards make the yards for the backs to do the damage if fielden and coley can both play well we do stand a realistic chance of winning we have alot of experience in big games in our squad which im sure madge will have tapped into. I just hope the nerves dont get to us in the first 20 and we settle in well there most dangerous player is brett morris the guy is awesome near the try line.
