I was thinking about the whole Noble thing at half time while he was doing his anylisis.
I think that only two people at this stage need to know if a decision has been made, thats IL and Noble. The reason Noble needs to know is so that he can either sort himself out with another job (which is the right time to do it, since some teams have already finished their seasons and are looking to build for next season) or think about whether he wants to stay at wigan should he get the offer.
The first team squad should also know, but only if they ask, if they want to know and IL believes it could possibly unsettle them, then by all means tell them, I see no reason why the players would be unsettled knowing that they didnt have a coach for next year. The players should be looking to the next game, not the next season imho.
Finally you've got the fans, do we need to know? not in my opinion.
The above only applies if IL has made a decision.
If he has not made a decision then I think Noble needs to be told so, and told that his performances will either win or lose him a new contract. If IL is waiting to see if anybody becomes available, or waiting to see if someone he has contacted is interested, then I'd tell Noble that I am in contact with other people, and give him permission to talk to other clubs, but stressing that he could still get an offer here, based on performances.
The players don't really need to know that he hasn't made a decision and imo the fans definatly don't.
I've got to add that I really feel sorry for Noble, he's done an awful lot for the club, from keeping us up, to being a part of putting the systems in place that we are starting to see benefits from now. I think if IL hasn't made a decision yet, then Noble definatly doesn't deserve to be in this situation after being a very successful coach with both Bradford and us, we may not have won trophies but we are a damn site better off than when he took over.

are you really that naive to believe noble does know if he;s staying or going at the end of the season?
noble's known he's on his way out for weeks/months
i know you post on the other forum read the topic on page 3 by southport warrior about the riversiders meeting, you'l find two posts interesting about noble's comments that night!
anyway everything wil come out in due course,but i think your critisism of IFL is abit over the top |

No i do not believe what he said.
Time and time again in the past he has used the press for his own personal agenda, i see no reason why he is not playing this game again.
A game that he is very good at, its a shame he does not have the same ability when it comes to coaching, he may still have a job at Wigan next year. |

Which in turn is a damned sight better than the e we would've been watching if we'd continued on the downward spiral we were in mid 2006. Noble may have his shortcomings but as I've said before he's done a lot of good work in his time at Wigan and although it may be time to move on he can leave with his head held high knowing he did the best he could, which in my eyes is the best that can be expected from anyone. |

It was the same when we signed Amos Roberts, people can not say that their were no strong front rowers available at the time but they were snapped up by other clubs.
If Brian Noble does leave, which looks increasingley likely then part of the reason for this imo will be his failure to add strength to the team in the areas where we needed it. |
