Can I just clarify what you're saying here please mate, just for my own benefit?

Are you saying the reputations of Andy Farrell & Jason Robinson have been tainted in your eyes because they went to union?

When I think of Farrell and Robinson it brings a smile to my face with how good they were, how I'd love for them to be still playing and how they are modern legends.

It just takes the sheen off it a bit (in my eyes) by the fact they went to union, even though they went for all the right reasons. Not saying they are less of a player for doing so just would have liked them both to have retired at the club.


Anyway.

Thanks for the explanation. I can't say I agree with you, but I understand what you're saying. I think you could apply that logic to alot of Wigan greats, but for me there's no tarnishing of reputations or any of the gloss taken off their records or careers with us. IMHO some players earn the right to make whatever decision they like and can justly expect no adverse reaction from Wigan fans. Robinson and Farrell are two such players. Edwards and Hanley would be two more.

I don't want to hijack Pat's thread, but I'd be interested in other opinions on this.

I wouldn't take any gloss of their careers with us, I mean their careers in general if you get what I mean.

I would have loved Farrell to retire at Wigan same with Robinson. Andy Farrell is still my favourite player of all time believe it or not, despite what I have said.

On another note Pat Richards once had a knee trembler in the back of a ute in Australia and a bit of man juice ended up in the engine, that ute is now known as 'Optimus Prime'.
