It should be, and that would hopefully be enough to put most players off being stupid enough to even consider it.

I am beginning to hate this season, what else could go wrong? Now Hock, Crap season, O' Carroll injury, no one wanting to come to the club, IL all mouth no action, uncertainty re Noble.

Where do we go from here as a club???

Do we bring back Mossop, to help bolster the squad? Do we promote more youngsters do we go out and buy another back rower? Or is it just Hansen, Lockers, Bailey & Tomkins for the rest of the year.

What an idiot ! A great talent wasted, but I can't say it surprises me.

This is obviously one of the rotten aspects at Wigan's core and could help us in the long run.

I have said there seems to be a lack of respect at the club and this proves the blatant disregard athletes have towards their employers and the supporters of him and the team.

What is more worrying is Gareth Hock was one of the players who did perform for us when on the field & yet he still took part in snorting illegal substances away from the field.

I would not be surprised if more Wigan players do this regularly which can affect the rest of our side & it all falls down to the lack of respect and authority our club has. Nobody is scared of being punished 'in house' and it has taken the RFL and WADA to hopefully send the message home.

Drastic action is now needed.

It sure is turning out a season to forget, The CC semi final is all that the club has to look forward to. But you get the impression now that not many are.

I keep thinking of the post made pre season by ABP (i think), about how forward he was looking to the new season, and the reasons why. Can some one dig it out and see if there is anything left on there that is still a positive??

1) Having young excellent winger being the top try scorer in SL after only a few games.
2) The introduction of a young Sam Tomkins, a promising talent with a bright future.
3) The signing of Martin Gleeson, the perfect centre to play for us who is also a Wiganer!
4) Going to Murrayfield to see Wigan smash saints!
5) Having an excellent reserve young team looking to be unbeaten all season!

I always stuck up for the lad saying he had at least one brain cell, well he's made me look a fool.

Granted something to look forward to in the long term, every cloud and all. As for this season should we just write the league off now and throw everything into the CC against Warrington, because the club and the town needs a lift and as fans we deserve better than these idiots are giving us at the moment.

Some friends of ours have children involved in junior athletics the drug testing there is second home for ex-Gestapo Nazi's if the tales are true. They are so strict at this very junior level it is untrue.

They are tested after a meet and if they can't give a sample, which is often the case after competition due to fluid loss they are not allowed to leave until they do and never let out of sight of the tester, i.e. they have to be watched while they provide the sample. This can be hours and hours later. Why they put their kids through this is something I wonder at times because it is not at all a pleasant experience.

To test all RL players regularly probably isn't practical for similar reasons. The time and effort taken would be huge and cost a fortune. So they rely on random tests as deterrent. The fact Hock has got caught hopefully will increase the deterrent effect.

I am pretty sure they are tested after the game and not being able to give a sample would also be a problem. They could be stuck there all weekend with 34 players to test!

As a Wakefield fan I have often looked on enviously at the back row options that Wigan possess. gareth Hock was a personal favourite because of the way he played the game with that mixture of sublime skills, brutal physicality and a touch of mongrel, a mixture all too rare in today's sanitised game

What an absolute shame, let's hope he learns from this after his inevitable ban may be he can come back and use his talents properly.

If Wigan choose to cancel his contract maybe it will free up enough space on the salary cap to make a bid for Richard Myler.

Most players in this league will no doubt use recreational drugs like Hock, its everywhere nowadays. It's just to bad stars like Hock have now gone and wasted their talent and career on drugs.

Its a shame for Rugby League, and especially England RL, because Hock could have been a star

Easy enough money with Hock and Bailey to get at least one major player and with Coley and Smith we could very well get another good player also. Let the kids provide our depth but strengthen our quality.

Phelps ain't good enough, Come on. lets build a winning team. Compare Phelps to Hodgson or Smith or Webb or Briscoe or Wellens.
He's an average stop gap. Get rid when you can.
