I like how I keep reading that "his attitude has improved" or "he's not up to his usual tricks" He's playing exactly the same way as he does for us but people aren't moaning cos he's not playing against them for a change.

Yeah, in many of cases that could and should be directly translated as "because I now stand to gain from his skill, I am no longer behaving like a complete tw0t!"

Opposition fans don't like Sam because he is very good and he has an attitude. This is the very reason that Wigan and England fans love him. It was probably mostly Leeds fans who booed him in the exiles game but I guarantee you it wasn't exclusively Leeds fans. I found the whole thing very embarrassing for the English game, andI'm glad that people are getting behind him fully. I do get that Buzz of excitement when he gets the all in broken field, that run late on in the 1st half on Saturday was superb!

After reading a couple of posts like yours I watched him closely against NZ. I watched the match on TV this time. I didn't spot him up to any of his SL tricks at all at any time during the match.

Probably because the "SL tricks" were a myth in the first place.

I thought he took some cheap shots by a dirty kiwi side and kept his cool and played rugby.

Not sure about your second point (we'll see next league season) but I'd certainly agree with your first.

He plays a clean game most week, so no change there.

So no substance apart from the usual guff - as expected. His "tricks" are no more than what a number of other players do on a regular basis, but who don't get the same amount of attention.

Sam's new found fortune has caused a stir up amongst some of the other players that aren't happy with the gulf in pay.

I take mostly everything with a pinch of salt that comes out of a Saints fans mouth was just curious as to hear what these rumours of unrest are.

Not that I believe this like but I'll humour you and say if it was true then these said players must be nuts. If they don't want Tomkins on their side regardless of what pay he's on then they know where the door is.

As I say I can't see it mind. I know if I was a player I'd fancy the chances of more winning bonus, trophy bonus, international call ups and generally being put in the shop window(well if these players are that money driven they must want that) more if I was on the same side as the leagues best and most scrutinised player.

Correct if what some Saints fans are talking about is true that some of our players have spat there dummy out because THE best player in Super League is deservedly earning the correct sum of money then they need look at the bigger picture. If they want our club to be successful in the next couple of years then they must understand we probably cannot win trophies without Sam playing his trade in a cherry and white shirt although I do understand if they have got the huff but thats life eh!.

I've also posted plenty of things on your rumours thread regarding announcements which materialised so I don't have any problem trusting my source at all. Some posters on this board know I'm not talking crap, it's up to you if you believe it or not.

However, If you do believe it, it's because some current first team players are earning 200k+ less than Sam and are not happy that there is such a big gulf in their wages. Personally I think its tough but there is a couple of players unhappy.

What players exactly? hes only on similar money to what Fielden was on.

If they think Sam Tomkins shouldn't be paid more then them they must have massive delusions of grandeur and their attitudes obviously aren't what we need.

It'd be like Mark Edmondson or Tony Stewart throwing hissy fits when Cunningham was kept in league at Saints if it firstly is true ( which with respect I doubt) and secondly it's a couple of squad players on 20k a year as I read on your board.
