Time to lock the threads (both sets) - re-iterating there is a lot of bitterness with Andy only due to his signing for Wigan in May 07 and from then on NOT playing with a Salford shirt on. We subsequently were relegated and paid the price and many fans still hold him totally responsible for our visits last year to Whitehaven, Batley etc etc.

On his day a very good prop - so lets put an end to the chiding. 1500 of us there last night and very, very, few of them were chanting.

Walking back to my car with my 9 year old & 2 x "Salford fans" behind me discussing who was left in the competition.

"Gateshead, St Helens erm erm erm I think Leeds will still be in it and Bradford I bet. Not sure about the others I think Hull are one."

At which point I turned round told them the 6 left and we had a half decent conversation until we reached His Car were there were 2 x other cars and 7/8 other lads waiting.

He said "Good luck" and his mates said "What the F*** you talking to them lot for the Wigan Scum?"

He said "Were only having a chat"

and the same lad replied back with "F*** em the wan***s!"

When we played them at Burnden Park in 88/89 ish in the CC semi they brough about 5000 Man U men with them and it was a disgrace!

Both the football club and rugby club have played one cup game at home this year.
Latics cup attendance of 4,100.
Wigan cup attendance of 9,466.

I credit myself with a bit more intelligence than that, I actually walked out of the ground having a very good conversation about the format of Super League and how the MM game impacts on the league with a 'Wigana'

Outside the West Stand after the game, a load of Salford lads singing "Stand up, if your car's smashed up".
Also, calling for us to get Saints in the next round, and get smashed. I can understand being upset at losing, but that kind of bitterness does them no credit whatsoever.

Funny. What I heard was "sing up if your car's been clamped." Referring to the fact that they were parked on the retail park. Oh well.

I've got to say that the 'were going to wembley....' chant coming from the salford lot was quite loud after they scored their only try. That didn't turn out too well though.............

I think we were singing it when we were winning at Hull in the 4th round

I don't think the majority of fans actually thought we would make the final.

A bit off-topic but I remember on our board a couple of seasons ago when one or two Saints fans had actually taken a "We're gonna win the league" chant completely seriously when we'd sung it during a game against them - we were bottom of the league
