Off the top of my head - and it wasn't difficult - I've highlighted the ones I've not have picked. Are you sure you wanted to ask me that question?

Westwood - I could of picked Wilkin, Gilmour, Westerman. They are all more skillfull, Wilkin and Gilmour (especially) have always done well at international level. Westerman could of been the man to play 13 with Sinny playing 9 to organise more.
Higham - Diskin because well, he is a better player.
Myler - Ratchford, Brough.... both are fit, have played in the last 3 months, Ratchford is the better player IMO and Brough is the type of player we need for England with his kicking game.
Bridge - Gleeson, Leon Pryce..... Pryce is a good player and should of been in the squad to play in the backline. Gleeson is the best defensive centre we have and should of been given the task of trying to deal with Inglis.
Carvell and Morley I am chuffed with, they have been great all season and should both be in the 17 IMO.

Don't take this as an attack it wasn't. I would have taken Myler but he wouldn't have been my first choice at 6 or 7. Bridge is actually a good strong centre and been one of our consistent players and i think does warrant a place and that is without my Warrington hat on. Higham and Westwood i agree shouldn't have been selected although i can see the reason he picked Ben, he's a selfless tireless worker but i would have gone with someone else

None of those are good enough for Internationals.
Agree about JJB, though I think Westwood deserves his place.

Miracle recuperation from his surgery then. I thought he was laid up for three months.

You cant include Gleeson. He'd be in the team if he was still a wire player remember.

He's out for the same reason Gardner, Wellens, Pryce, Burrow etc are out - he was sh*t in the world cup. Our right side defence was an absolute farce and Gleeson and Gardner were a shambles.
Further, he's had a worse season than the one that preceded his world cup, so I'm happy for Bridge to be given a go. If he stinks the place out, try someone else.
Gleeson is finished.

See I don't understand this. He doesn't play 9 for Leeds, and has never played 9 for any length of time ( he may well have moved there occasionally during a game for various reasons). It all seems to hark back to 1 game when he wasn't that good.
Why do people (this isn't a go at you personally, just a general comment) feel the need to see players well out of position for International games? Games when players should be playing in their rightful positions as they don't have enough time to adjust? Another example is Pryce at centre, he hasn't played centre for over three years, yet people persist in wanting to see him there in one of the hardest games he'd have ever played.

Leeds did not have a second hooker untill Danny B turned up he played there a lot when Diskin was off the field.

I agree with the point about not playing people out of position as a general rule, but we have a real problem at centre at the moment and personally I'd have like to have seen Pryce given a go there in this series. Its not ideal but the centre problem is a massive issue.

To be fair it was a joke on my part. I wouldnt have Gleeson in my England side either at the minute. Hasnt been what he was promised to be for Wigan so far sadly.

The thing is at his best gleeson is fantastic centre, this year at both clubs he has been a shadow of his former self for whatever reason, hopefully your new coach will bring out the best of him again so we have more centre options for england.

He may have been below his best but he improved our right-hand sight no-end, both on attack and defence.
It may have coincided with Hock getting banned, but our right defence improved beyond recognition as well as our right winger getting a decent return on tries for the first time in a while.
I don't think he's been poor to be honest, I can't think of many times he's wasted an opportunity or made errors, and I think we are a much much better side with him in than without.
And he would be in my england team, even though he's not stood out, we know he'd do a job and do it well.

The bit in bold is very true. Our right side was route one to the try line for opposing teams until he turned up. I think defensively he has been excellent for us. IL said he was also but that he hadn't perhaps done as well on attack as expected but then as a team we are far from the finished article.
Unfortunately T Smiths choice of centres looks like "anyone but Gleeson". He may have his reasons for this but given the lack of quality British centres its still a big call to leave him out as he has done IMO.

Fair enough you've seen more of him than me but when i have seen him he has been nowhere near as good as he has been in the past. Like i say i hope he gets back to his best to give england more options in the centres.

The reason for that in my opinion was poor coaching. At Saints and Warrington he was given the ball in space because of dummy runners but at Wigan last season he had to beat about 3 players as soon as he received the ball. Hock had to do the same.
He was one of our better players in the World Cup, especially when he played stand-off. Watch him go next season.

It is, but I'd rather have seen Gleeson in there for that reason. He's not been great this season, but he hasn't been that bad and has experience of big games.
