If someone asks the club nicely, I think it would look brilliant if they let a few of those army lads wave a couple of the big flags on the poles and hold a couple of flares as the teams come out, but with flares being a no go for supporters i doubt the club would let it happen.

Salford did it with their mascot. I dont know if they still do. So you would think it would be ok for someone from the army to do it.

The mascot at salford when he went past the away fans you couldnt see nothing at all for a few minuites which is no good when you have paid good money to watch the game.

Do they leave the flags up on the south stand all the time. Its just today when i went to get my ticket for Sunday they were still up.

I don't see any reason why they shouldn't stay up all the time...

Theres no real reason to take them down really,after all the poorer team in the town that rocks up there need all the help they can get to draw attention away from the drivle they serve up on a sat afternoon.

Taking this flag as an idea for one of our own. I want a black outline of the Wigan skyline, to include recognisable landmarks such as the Parish Church, the wheel at the college, Trencherfield Mill, Scholes highrise, the steel support above the stand at the DW etc

You get the idea for the flag, Wigan is a rugby town.

Think you would struggle these days to get a Wigan Skyline as you would need to look at the town from a flat area looking towards the town. I was thinking maybe the end of the platform at North Western station but they have built a multistory car park in the way. Maybe from the top of the Gallery's car park with a panoramic camera. Once you have the photo its quite easy to black out the buildings and make the sky red or white.

Cheers, rather than taking an actual shot of the skyline I was thing more of 'making up' a montage of the key landmarks. You can obviously knock one up with pen & paper but I wondered if there was a more professional way of doing it. Maybe I sketch it then scan it to a PC?
