| Quote ="Cruncher"It was the position the penalties were awarded in as well. As I've mentioned on another thread, nearly all of theirs seemed to be on the 4th or 5th tackle about 20 yards from our line. Most of ours seemed to be in our own defensive zone.
For the Giants to not have won comfortably when enjoying such advantages was pathetic. =#FF4000And as for Kevin Brown - I take everything back that I said last week. They can keep him. He can't tackle for toffee, and still makes ridiculous decisions with ball in hand.'"
If we were honestly looking at him for next year, hopefully his performance today will have warned Madge and Lenegan off.
Even regardless of his poor performance today, he's not what we require at Wigan.

Radio Manc stated Wigan took a very good following today, so looking at that 5-6K home fans is just shocking. Th'owd chap at Huddersfield (Ken Bates wannabe) must be tearing his hair out especially after pumping hundreds of thousands of pounds into the club essentially giving season tickets away!'"
It's one of the reasons I don't like Hudds. Everything they've got hasn't been earned. The players are there due to the cap and thier increases in attendances are blown up via their sugar daddy and his cheap tickets.
You always know that if IL leaves Wigan we'd maintain our current level as we've got a good base. Same goes for Wire, Leeds and Saints but not Hudds.

But only Bradford have won it from outside the top 2, and it's only happened once.
Do you think Leeds will finish in the top 2?

Spot on.
He's not the type of player we need and I don't think he's good
enough either.
We've already got a younger/better 6 in Sam and to move Sam from there for Brown is plain stupid.

| Wigan coach Michael Maguire:
"We got ourselves in a tough position at times throughout that game but they kept working hard for each other and we were lucky enough to come out the right end.
"When we had the ball we knew we had to complete and get down the other end because the other team are quality.
"Every time we got down into their area, we came up with some points so it was pleasing from that point of view but we've got to make sure we don't put ourselves in that position too often."
Huddersfield coach Nathan Brown:
"I think both coaches weren't rapt with their defences but both sides played some good attacking football.
"Defence hasn't been an issue for us for 18 months. Obviously when we get it right we do pretty well but the last two weeks we've been exposed pretty badly in some areas.
"We've just got to work hard and I'm sure we'll rediscover what we need to rediscover and we'll improve."

Have you looked at the stats for teams that win outside the top 2?
Warrington and saints are just as close to 1st (4 points) as they are to 6th (-4 points to hull, with leeds 5 behind) its going to be a battle to stay in that top 3 never mind top 6

| well just got back. IMO we were the better team today. We just made it hard for ourselves. Gave silly penalties away at crucial times. Madge will be fuming at the penalty count. Having watched it live its tough to see if all the penalties and sin bins were called for. I thought they made far to much ground on marsh and gouldings wing. We missed gleason. Am chuffed for the win but we need to sort out the penalty count and defence on the fringes. Pryce had some good touches as did tommy and joel. some crunching tackles from the boys spiced things up a little. All in all glad for the 2 points but IMO we are better than that.

It depends on the persons body. Doctors usually say 2-3 months, hopefully Mossops body responds well to treatment.

Depends on severity, how quickly / easily it is returned to the joint and whether there is any associated ligament damage.
Absolute minimum rehabilitation is 6 weeks, more likely 10-12 weeks, but even that can increase significantly if there is damage to the ligaments / rotator cuff, with the worse case scenario being surgery.
Its a bad injury, as there is also a weakening of the joint which makes reoccurance more likely in the future and should necessitate slow rehabbing via strengthening the rotator cuff to improve stability. So its probably best if he sits for 3 months, with 6 weeks of limited activity and 6 weeks of physical rehabilitation rather than being rushed back.

Before last year no team had won the GF 3 times on the trot, before 2008 no team had won the WCC and grand final in the same season. So the current leeds team have a precident for making history, so I wouldn't be too concerned about that.
To answer your question I think leeds will finish 4th. In which case they'll need to win 2 games to make it to old trafford, 1 away from home. Not an impossible task.

I agree with the original post. One thing I couldn't have stood today was losing to much poorer opposition. Your team made very little field position except from 40:20 kicks and relied on the one-eyed performance of the ref to get down our end of the field - and that's the only reason you stayed in the game.
