| 18 all draw at Central Park in 1991 (during the Mission Impossible season). Midweek, wet, cold, great old fashioned Rugby League. Skerrett had just been banned by the Disciplinary meaning he would miss Wembley but he was fantastic that night. One of my favourite matches, immense character from the whole team who were all exhausted and injured.

| The best thing about that game was a Wigan fan on the terrace listening to the game on the radio.
"We've scored" and a big cheer went up.
Priceless.

'92 I think it was, at Burnden Park. One of the great Wigan performances of recent years IMO. Fairly sure Nobby was Bradford's hooker that day too?
Another favourite of mine, think it was our first meeting at JJB:
[urlhttp://www.sportinglife.com/rugbyleague/reports2000/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=rleague/00/06/07/RUGBYL_Wigan.html[/url
Over 17,000 on a Wednesday night, Bradford brought thousands too. Both teams packed with world class players, how times change
'"
The try from Offiah where he ran the length of the field leaving Cordle and others in his wake was one of the great all-time Wigan tries. Fantastic memories. What a performance from Wigan that day and for the rest of that season, thrashing Leeds at home 74-6 and destroying Saints in the Premiership final. Offiah was on an incredible run of form, as was Gene Miles, those two on that form in the current side would allow us to beat any team in SL IMO. But to be fair the whole team was playing superbly, what a privilege it was to watch that side!

There was another game in 93/94 I think that was called off after 20 because of fog. I remember it came in over the top of the (only) stand there and just filled the bowl up. Offiah scored I think, but nobody could see a flippin' thing!
Winter rugby days back at Odsal - always freezing and that terrible "Northern" song they played before the games.

I remember that too. I'm sure we were still still losing despite his score.

| For pure emotion and a feeling that i'll probably never ever have again, it has got to be the playoff game in 2007. We were dead and buried with 25 mins left, let when Calders grabbed that intercept i was screamin and jumping around like a little girl.
I've never hugged so many people i didn't know in my life....when Pat kicked the drop goal to win it.......it was unbelievable!!

I remember that game as we paid twice to see it. Coming out of the ground after it was abandoned they where handing out free tickets to come back and watch the re play. Only for my dad to leave them in his jeans and put them straight into the washing machine when we got home. Still gets a mention each time we purchase match tickets.

| Quote ="Bert's Medal"Agreed - plus the Challenge Cup match in 1985...Hanley outplayed Kenny, a great try scored by Gilly, but the Wigan fans rushing onto the pitch from behind the in-goal area prevented him from touching down between the sticks (Odsal was being redeveloped (honestly!) and we sat on chairs on the perimeter of the pitch with our feet on the advertising hoardings at the very spot where Gilly collected the ball to score) - happy days!

I remember Gill's offside/in touch try!
7-6 to Wigan?

Definitely, for 4/5 years Bradford at home was 2nd only to the Stains match.

Great call.
Joe Lydon pinched 5 yards for the penalty and kicked it.
Hanley was on strike.
That morning we had been searching for the body of Helen McCourt who was missing presumed dead in Billinge.
The body was never found and Ian Simm who was then landlord of the George & Dragon was convicted of here murder.

That was a Sky televised match which Eddie Hemmings had fun trying to describe once the fog bedded in! I remember something involving Offiah but I'm not sure it was a try. The Rothmans book says Wigan trailed 4-2 when it was called in the 13th minute - Gerald Cordle scoring for Bradford. Frano still kicked a penalty goal in the fog!

Yep, and it was on TV IIRC. Haven't seen a scoreline like that since, was it Lydon that kicked the goal?

I was in the toilet because I couldnt watch and then I heard everyone screaming and came running out and then saw Calderwood with open field ahead and started jumping round with everyone at the top of the steps at Bradford, my pants fell down though and I honestly didnt realise, I dont really remember pulling them up I was too excited.
One of the best things about that game was the fact we had just beaten Saints the game before which was a really good game and there was another great game to follow at Hull, if I had to pick my most exciting month as a Wigan fan it might just be that one.

To be fair there are quite a few good away atmospheres
Dire and Stains (last game) I thought were very good last season
Can't really remember Calderwood's performance's
I can remember Millard and Fletcher being outstanding though

I was gutted at that result. We went into the game lacking our playmaker Harkin (we were totally dependant on him back then). Had he been available I'm sure we'd have won. He was out thanks to dirty St Helens due Haggerty and Forber being sent out to maim him by Murphy a few weeks earlier.
