| I would be happy because it will mean a much more succesful 2013 world-cup in this country. It would be a huge boost for RL in this country for England to win this comp, espcially after fails recently in RU and Football. English people like some success.
As for the win itself, I am not sure. I am not as big a fan of the national team as I used to be. As a Wigan fan I just feel seperate to the rest of Super League, I don't like being assoiciated with fans who boo their own players. Either way, I'm going to the final and I would like an England win, if not it should be a great occasion as the last game of Locky the legend.
I have lost most of my passion for England. I have been waiting for the team and the fans to give me a reason to change my views. Maybe Saturday will bring that.

| i think it will be more of what will it mean to rugby league in this country this 4nations has got alot more neturals talking than in previous years. People are starting to realise that rugby league is more entertaining than what the old gaurd of rugby union would want them to know.
But personally i would be as happy as i was when we won the grand final... sooner people realise that the international stage should be bigger and better supported than superleague the better; money will soon come in and there will be no more we dont have enough revenue to keep are players.

Don't let some booing idiots get in the way of supporting your country. They ain't real fans booing their own player.

| An awful lot as its about time we as a country showed our quality.
1. It would be great for RL and raising the profile helps us all.
2. I hate Aussies when it comes to sport.

Short sighted and it's a shame you feel that way.
If England can win the 4 Nations on Saturday it will help our game immensely.
The likes of Joel Tomkins would probably stay in the game if we had a strong international game.
Also the profile of the game would shoot up around the country I believe if we win.

| I'd be made up to finally get the monkey off our back, I reckon we have complex with beating the Aussies in a series.
If we win the tournament we will get some publicity in the mainstream media in the build up to the WC in 2013.
Plus I would love to beat the arrogant Aussies, send Lockyer home with a loss to the mighty England.
I don't care who a player plays for in an England shirt I back them to the hilt and cheer them on as I would the Wigan players, it takes my tinted glasses off and sees the player in a different light.
Come on England!!!!!!

| Thanks for asking this question! My dad first took me to watch the Kangaroos in '82 - I've been suffering like you all ever since. I was at Wembley in '90 and again in '92 - I can still see that gap opening up for Renouf. I got my ticket today and am quite giddy. But am trying to keep my feet on the ground - I was there in '05 when Lockyer tore us apart. Ten years ago me and my dad bought a bottle of single malt in Perth only to be opened when GB win the ashes. Ironically I'm now married to an Aussie and have two kids. My dad now has dementia and for the first time won't be going with me. Still I'll be wearing my GB jersey and will have the bottle ready - you never know...

don't get me wrong. I'd prefer England to win than AUS/NZ/CYM, but I just dont have any passion for the international game.
Let's be fair, the profile of the game wont shoot up at all if England win next week, we'll get a 10 second "oh and England RL won the 4 nations" at the end of the BBC Sport News bulletin, and that's it. Maybe a could of articles of same or shorter length in the national rag, same length in local rag...
Anyhoo, if we DO win next week, the RL world, with the exception of England, will all say the same "yea, but they wouldn't have won if Slater was playing".

| It would be huge for the profile of the game and International RL.
The publicity it would generate is absolutely priceless.
Also personally I love International RL. The highest quality rugby every week seeing the real superstars of our game pitched against each other. I can't get enough! The chance to shut the Aussies up and restore some pride after past years is just unimaginable. It would do so much to raise the profile of Super League too.
Massive game, absolutely massive game. I'll be there - can't wait!

I think a win for England would make Australia a bit more interested in the international game and that would set up the World Cup nicely.

| It would be fantastic to see as its been so long since we won anything, it would definitely increase the profile of the game here which can only be a good thing, maybe get more current fans of the game to take international rugby more seriously and take more pride and follow England rather than the I dont care attitude a fair amount seem to unfortunately show. I will be in the crowd saturday and can't wait for it, plus who wouldn't feel good watching the aussies get beaten.

| It would be fantastic if England won but would not mean as much to me personally as winning an Ashes series. The best of three tests v the Aussies is the bigger achievement IMO but I will still be very happy with an England win.
The crowds have been good and I think they would shoot up for the World Cup on the back of some England success.
I am fed up with the club game being seen as the pinnacle of RL sport. The one thing RU can teach us is that a meaningful International competition is what generates the most publicity and money and an England win would go along way to helping us down that particular road.

| It would mean an awful lot to me after watching the Aussies beat us test after test in my youth days and them always looking on us as pomme amateurs. If we win they will take notice that the super league and Great Britain as a whole are improving at a very fast rate and therefor we are starting to hold our own against the green n golds and New Zealand which can only be good for rugby league in general.
I would just love to wipe that smarmy attitude they have against us come on England proud to be British

| I said before we got knocked out of the play offs that I'd trade a grand final win for us if England could win this four nations. We can blame all sorts of different factors for the international games slow death but let's face it the main one is a lack of genuine success. If we could get that success on Saturday the game in this country will receive such a boost. The international game will hopefully start to rise again and become the pinnacle of the sport bringing in the sort of funds it should do which will help clubs at all levels.
Saturday is far bigger then any grand final or challenge cup final and a win to me would mean everything!

| It would mean absolutely everything as an RL fan, and would be a massive boast to RL in this country and to the international game in general (and would also mean I can spend the next year mocking my Aussie misses and my mates). I dont really understand why some are so against the national team, and saying they would rather thier club win then England. Do these people realise that the club season is over now? How can our game ever grow if people have that attitude. As we have seen in other sports a healthy international game can improve the profile of a sport at club level and bring more money in.

Well said.
My greatest ever day as an RL fan was being in Melbourne when we beat the Aussies in 1992, and were so close to winning that series. IF and its a big IF we can win on Saturday then
1) It will get us some well earned publicity and recognition.
2) It should also give us some belief in the the future of the International game.

Beating the Aussies in any sport is always great.
Be great for OUR game
