Same here, it's a stupid idea a minutes applause. Minutes silence it should always be.

That isn't actually true. Besides, we've had a minutes silence to remember and respect Terry and silence was appropriate for something so tragic and so soon after it happened, but several months on I think a minutes applause is justified to celebrate his talents on the pitch and the positive things he did during his life.

I could be jumping, crawling, rolling, clapping, stood there like a statue,

But what ever i am doing in that minute i will be thinking about terry and what a nice guy and talented player he was.

The minute silence was horrible at OT, a large section ruined it - therefore they must have took this stance, even though i doubt it would between bradford and wigan.

I agree. A stupid idea. If clubs don't think their fans can be quiet for one minute as a mark of respect they really should not bother.

I don't think that's the reason for having this minutes applause as opposed to silence. I don't think they'd have worried about anyone spoiling it since it's between Bradford and Wigan. Perhaps they consulted his family / those that were closest to him and this is what they decided?

I understand that you prefer a minutes silence rather than a minutes applause but to label it a stupid idea is a bit laughable! How could you ever label such a gesture as a stupid idea whether it be a minutes silence or applause?

It is basically a gesture to Tez and Somebody has made the decision that it will be a minutes applause, we as fans have an obligation to just participate in what is a nice gesture to remember Tez.

Not true. Usually it depends who and what it's for.

I'm a traditionalist. I like the silence of churches and libraries. A minute's silence in respect of the dead is a solemn tribute. But we all have an opinion.

Whatever it is , silence or applause, it should be observed with respect for the guy in question, and at 3 o'clock I will be at work being silent (cos clapping on my own might get me sacked).

i prefer the applause, especially when it is somebody within sport. The minute silence is there for funerals and memorials.

Why didnt they wait till the players come out to do the minuites applause as fans where still streaming in when it took place.

I thought that. Expected the teams to come out side by side after he had finished talking.

I'm not a huge fan of the minutes applause under the circumstances.

Love the minutes silence,it can be so moving,but nowadays like some other people have said you have the applause to drown out some,,(and i mean some)idiots who can and do spoil it for the many others in the silence....Remember The grand final last year.So when me and the other half are there next week i will remember Tez and though he was*nt my favourite player when he was on the pitch i will give his memory total and utter respect...RIP Terry....
