Agreed, wouldnt swap him for any other winger in the world - not saying he's the best but he's the best for us.

Been one of the best buys Wigan have made for a long, long time.

He is like an extra forward at times as well as a top class finisher.

He's simply brilliant. He kicks goals, gains metres with penalty kicks, always kicks over the half way line from a drop out, high towering bombs from kick offs, makes plenty of metres forward when running the ball back, has plenty of pace, the best winger in the air in Super League, can play at fullback, safe as houses under the high ball, got great positioning sense and can't half finish a try!

Yeah, I have to agree that your Pat is the best winger this season.

I'm not sure they would. On the wire board someone nicked the "if you could have anyone out of sl" thread of here, and a lot of them said Pat.

Its only a couple of years ago that Saints fans laughed on this board when someone said Pat was world class. Apparently Wellens et al were better backs. They're not laughing now...!

No-one in SL is laughing now - other than Wigan fans, delighted to have "The Postman" in our side. He is the best winger in SL (is there a better back?).

What a player he is. Pat is a bona fide, all-time Wigan legend who would have graced any of the great Wigan sides, in any era, I am sure.

He'll definitely be up there by the end of his time, if not now already. Truly one of Wigan's best buys, and in my opinion our most valuable asset, although some may disagree. Best winger in the league by far.

pat could see out his career at wigan if he wanted, with such a young squad he could be part of a contending team for the next 5 or 6 years and would become a true club legend. hes got to be in with a shout at man of steel !!!

Pat Richard deserves all the plaudits he gets.. I can't remember him having a bad game (apart from his first season). He isn't the quickest winger but makes up for it in his size and ability under the high ball.

I know phelps wasn't at his best today but surely we have the best back three at Wigan since Radlinski, Offiah and Robinson in Phelps, Roberts and Richards.

I said at the match that he's quite simply one of the best finishers in world rugby. I've seen some great wingers from all clubs over the 20-odd years I've been watching, some faster, some stronger, some with quicker speed off the mark, some with a better eye for a gap. However I have rarely seen a winger who I would rather have my money on scoring from 15 yards out with men in front of him. He had no right scoring either of those tries today. Lesser wingers wouldn't have. In fact Goulding, who is himself on fire this season, had 3 similar chances during the game and couldn't convert any of them. The one where he twisted over the line with defenders hanging off him and still managed to reach out over his head, one-handed, and safely ground the ball was outstanding! If he'd only done this the once in his career it would be worth talking about. Pat has done it so many times, you could write a book!

Thank you Ian Millward for giving us Pat Richards. I used to think he was a class act back in the NRL, but to see how much further his whole game has come on over the last few years has been a joy to witness.

Millward had nowt to do with it IMO. Mo signed Richards and Millward played him at centre nearly ruining him. Everyone knows I don't rate Noble but credit where it's due, he switched Pat to the wing and he hasn't looked back since. I think he has improved further this season under the MM regime as well.

I thought it would be a long time before we had a overseas wing legend to rival Dallas but Richards is already right up there.
