Why should we not encourage inter club banter, I have just been on the Saints board congratulating Brown for the brilliant decision to aim for 4th or better still 5th in the table come the end of the season, which as history shows gives them a better chance of a grand final appearance.

That's just trolling...

Isn't a bit of banter part of the beauty of open forums, you give and take, the world would be a far more boring place without a bit of humour, plus the fact that after my usual 3 pints of mild I forced a bottle of Newky brown down.

If both Hull teams win this weekend (FC away at Cats, KR away at Bradford) and Leeds beat Widnes there'll be one point separating 7,8,9 and 10. Relegation is all but done, but the race for top 8 and the fact there are 4 points separating the top 6 it makes for one of the most exciting ends to a SL season!

I can't help but feel, though, that the closeness is due to the top teams (ourselves included) playing uncharacteristically poorly, rather than the rest catching up.

I'm not so sure, before the season started I'd have said that any of us, Leeds, Saints, Wire and Hudds could beat each other and be capable of challenging for silverware, Castleford have added themselves to that mix now also. Teams like the 2 Hull teams, Catalans and Widnes are much less consistent but can be comptitive on their day. The only disappointment this year has been Salford, and with the signings they have made I'd expect them to be much more competitive in 2015. All in all I think we're going to have a much better standard of competition when we have 12 teams next season.

Wrong. I just missed this particular thread that's all. I was at a BBQ the day of the Catalans game and out at a family do the day after. Sorry I didn't have time to bless you all with my presence.

Another great game and good effort from our young lads, I'm confident we can take them when it matters. Add green and McIlorum to that game and our attack takes care of itself.

Plus Tomkins and Farrell. There were just small differences between the teams last night and these four will make a huge difference when they return.

As I said in another thread, A full strength Wigan 17 beats Saints convincingly. The Grand Final is between us and Leeds with Wire having an outside chance. Saints wont get near it.

I make Leeds marginal favourites to make the Grand Final but you may as well flip a coin between Wigan, Saints, Warrington and Huddersfield in my opinion.

Wouldn't say they won't get near it, those knock out games can go either way when it comes to the semis. Think wires name is on the Challenge cup but not the GF. Wouldn't mind playing Leeds in the GF.

Also I think if cas manage to secure themselves a couple of home games in the play offs they have a shot. Very hard to play against at home!

I don't understand this defensive, dismissive attitude. To say we won't get near the Grand Final is ludicrous. No Saints fan would ever say that about Wigan and no fan from any other club would say it about Saints. I just don't get why people feel the need to be like that.

Its my opinion. Leeds, Wire and Wigan, when at full strength are all better sides than Saints. Sorry to upset you.

To dismiss our chances of getting to the final when we have such a good record of getting there is a little bit silly. And before anyone says it, I'm well aware that we lost a few once we got there.

As I said, in my opinion all 3 have better squads than yours.

Nothing to do with the defeat Friday, thought we played well considering the squad, we pretty much showed you up at Langtree and I believe with them players back, if we meet again in the play offs we will have far too much for you. Just an opinion though "mate".

Let's all chip in and get YG a ticket for the rest of the season, he clearly enjoys our company, and is most probably a closet pie...
