Greenwood looked very good last year and I thought he had a chance of the world cup squad, im suprised he has not featured this year.

The new coach seemed to want him out even before a ball was kicked this season so it’s probably not too much of a slight on his talent.

We need more signings of a similar quality to Hardaker and Greenwood for 2019 but on playing ability alone you can’t bag the start to our recruitment so far.

He is a good player, don't get me wrong, but he's far more effective on the left than he is on the right. When he was shifted to the right to accommodate Wilkin he was completely ordinary, but on the left he ran good lines and was one of our better performers. With Farrell playing long minutes on the left, it may see Greenwood not reach the levels that some of you hope he can reach.

Faz would most likely be shifted to the bench based on his last few years tbh.

Assuming Joe gets some form.

Thought the full cap allowance of a player counted, if they played a minute or a full season.

I’m not sure exactly how it works but the RFL would have to sanction the move so I’m sure it’s above board.

Maybe GCT are paying some or all of his wages until the end of the season.

It’s a live salary cap and his wage doesn’t count as he’s off our books, unless we are still contributing.

I believe that it's the full amount paid to the player that would count.

Therefore, as he has left now, we should be able to pay Greenwood the same amount as Joel, for the rest of the season, with no effect on the cap (provided that RFL sign off on it).

Only guessing but I assume there is some devil in the detail of how Joel left too that will affect what he is owed

And FPN, he left after the season started and wasnt replaced. We should have plenty of leeway under the cap

Yes, you would think it would have to be that way, otherwise, in theory, his full season wage would count on both ours and KR’s cap at the same time, which is ludicrous even for the RFL.

McIlorum, FPN and Joel must’ve been on a hefty chunk between them. I’m not sure how the cap works exactly but we must be spending far less on salaries with Greenwood on board then we were before a ball was kicked this season.

Lenners is doing a cracking job of getting rid of Wanes overpaid and overrated boys club, keep it up Lenners..

Some of the vacant cap will go to improved contacts for existing players. I can think of Marshall, Isa, Davies and Gildart who've have improved contacts so far this season.

When does greenwood actually arrive?

Wonder if Greenwoods Girlfriend is actually an aussie and hence the visa issues he is having to sort out before he can travel over. Didn't think a visa was needed to travel over billing lump or even for travelling down from Oldham.

He seemed to he clearing out his apartment/house yesterday (clips on instagram) so can’t be long

Wonder if he is doing a mini pre season In Aus so when he arrives he is fit and ready to go. No point him coming over straight away if he is not fit

Why wouldnt he be fit? Hes been playing for Burleigh Bears hasn't he? (Gold Coast feeder club)

Why would he do that? Why would he stay in Aus and train on his own? Surly it would be better to get over here, get set up, clear any jet lag and train with the boys.

All that's even before you start to even consider that his visas prob been cancelled as he's not got employment.

He put a picture on Instagram saying him and his partner were having a last catch up with some friends before heading back to the UK ‘next week’ (it was posted a couple of days ago) so it doesn’t sound like it’ll be long before he’s here.

Looking at our back row options for Friday at Cas, getting him here this week would be very handy!
